Salt Peanuts Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Glad to hear that Andrew is feeling better Todd. This. Thanks for the well wishes on the tooth, guys. Of course, I found out we made an error when we picked our dental insurance way back last year (i.e., took the plan with lower coverage than intended) so the out of pocket expense will be wee bit painful.
guzziguy Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 how the hell do you pronounce that? I meant epicaricacy Just like it's spelled.
n_maher Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 The weather outside right now: thunder and lightning. Yes, it's fucking mid-march. Oh joy, the power just flicked on and off....

So I wasn't going crazy when I thought I heard some thunder a bit back. Hey, at least you may get to use that generator this winter, right?
skullguise Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) Yup, thunder and lightning....gotta love New England. Though with the weather Ma Nature has been putting on other parts of the US and the world, no complaints. Hope power stayed on Nate! Edited March 14, 2012 by skullguise
n_maher Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 The power stayed on but it was a big storm that went rolling through. There were a few huge boomers the shook the entire house.
shellylh Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Went to make an order at Archer Liquors for 1) Hoppin’ Frog Barrel Aged BORIS (2) Three Floyds Behemoth (3) Three Floyds Dreadnaught and then found out that they no longer ship to Texas (nor do they ship anything but "premade" boxes - meaning you cannot pick the beers). http://web.mac.com/archerliquors/ArcherLiquors/Shipping.html
shellylh Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Could you sue the state of Texas Al? I have a god given right to have beer shipped to me.
Augsburger Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Went to my locker to pull out some Roderer Champagne and Cabs for our ides of March wine dinner tomorrow. Should be fun as long as Brutus stays home.
mikeymad Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Fuckers! ^^ this... (that being Texas - lot of places not allowed to ship there)
Voltron Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 I'm ready to sue the shit out of everyone right now. Drawing up a complaint . . .
Pars Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Could you sue the state of Texas Al? I have a god given right to have beer shipped to me. It always killed me when I lived in Texas that there were dry counties... and then you could go to a Red Barn drive thru liquor store for those times when you were too drunk to get out of the car...
swt61 Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) And the dry counties aren't really dry. You just need a member card to drink. There's always a way to circumvent the Baptist. Louisiana has drive through Margarita vendors. To accommodate the sealed container laws, they put a piece of Scotch tape over the straw. No shit! Edited March 15, 2012 by swt61
Dreadhead Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 My work upgraded my laptop from 2GB to 4GB of RAM and it's honestly like having a new machine. So much better. Had not realized how badly it was choking before.
Fitz Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Hopefully fixed the high idle / surging problem I've been having with my car recently. Sometimes it would idle over 1k in drive and surge between 1.5k-2k in park or neutral, both only after the engine was fully warmed up. Couldn't find any vacuum leaks anywhere, no errors on ECU for a bad sensor, can't figure out wtf it is. Then when I'm rooting around I see the idle air controller's electrical connection is pretty loose (locking tab is broken, stupid brittle 23 year old plastic...), so I push it all the way back in and nothing happens, but a few moments later revs go down, then after a few more moments it goes down another step, and continues like that down to normal idle. Yay.
jvlgato Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Nice job, Fitz! I'm impressed you can repair anything in a car these days, they're so complicated any more!
Voltron Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I kicked ass and took names. Same as every other day, Queen V!
Salt Peanuts Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Had my problematic tooth taken care of, though it became a surgical extraction as opposed to a root canal. My wallet is happy about that one.
swt61 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I kicked ass and took names. Similar to my day, but I took ass and skipped names.
