guzziguy Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Sorry Mike. Wishing peace and calm to you and your family. Wayne, maybe you should post a reward for the return of your stuff. That would make it worth the effort to return the not very useful (to non-Santas) stuff.
Torpedo Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Sorry Mike, best wishes. Wayne, hopefully you get your stuff back. Looks like it's of no use to most people, and it's very likely that someone finds it where you had the car. Posting a reward and a few ads on the local papers or magazines might help.
Augsburger Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Sorry, Mike. I kind of know what you are going through as I kept the vigil twice last year for both my parents. I wish you and your family peace.
Voltron Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Here's a house in the Castro/Mission that draws a crowd: And here is our little tree:
mrarroyo Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Sorry Mike and to the rest of your family.
RudeWolf Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 My condolences to Mike. Even if I don't know him, I feel that every death is a loss. So, yesterday I left the land of the ice and snow and through Copenhagen flew back to my fatherland- Latvia. Visited two electronics stores on the way and had a good talk with one of the clerks in the store at Keflavik airport. And in Copenhagen finally got to listen the infamous Beats. Well... At least my HD-25-II in addition to reproduce beats can take them as well, all of these Beats felt like toys. Today fired up my old rusty soldering rod and put back the voicecoil to one of the contacts on my HD25-II. That'll teach me to not repair stuff without proper tools. The SR-80i is going to a dear friend of mine, a music journalist and true mellomaniac.
swt61 Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Nice Al! And glad to see my peeps (or I assume such) keepin' the Castro gay for the holidays.
skullguise Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Yeah, pretty cool stuff. At first glance, it was tough to get an idea on proportions of the setup, but then you see the people in front, and you realize what went into it.... And great tree, too, Al, same with the others here. As "the Jew that likes the trees" I'm enjoying this. After telling my wife about this, she decided to give the Hanukkah bush another try. It's literally a few decorative branches in a large glass floor-standing vase, adorned with blue and silver ornament balls. And so far, the cats have left it alone....
Wmcmanus Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 It gets worse! Last night on my way back home from another Santa event, someone crossed the center line and sideswiped me. Just caught the mirror on the passenger side of my Ford Edge and ripped it off, but no other damage at all. Oddly enough, this is the 3rd time the same thing has happened to me with this vehicle since I bought it new in 2007 (but only the 2nd under my command). So that's another $500 loss. Guess I just can't win until I actually buy a sleigh! I'm going to finish the season off in my Pontiac G6 convertible because the Edge is starting to spook me! Plus, people really love seeing Santa driving around with the top down.
morphsci Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 That sucks Wayne. I wonder if the real Santa Clause practices voodoo? Just finished upgrading the Mac mini music server from 4 to 8 Gb. I can't believe I waited this long.
Pars Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Thanks guys. It has been a rough 3 weeks plus and looks like it will continue another four or five days. No one should have to go through this, neither the patient nor the family. I agree Mike. I'm glad I only had to spend 2 days with my dad like that. Sorry that you and your loved ones are going through this.
tyrion Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 I agree Mike. I'm glad I only had to spend 2 days with my dad like that. Sorry that you and your loved ones are going through this. Thanks to everyone and sorry to hear about your dad. My mother in law passed away this morning.
VPI Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Sorry to hear that Mike, my condolences to you and your family.
Dreadhead Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 My condolences Mike. I know what you're going through and it sucks. We had a small family event here in Barbados last night in honor of mother in law.
Torpedo Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Condolences Mike, best wishes for you and your family.
shellylh Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 My condolences Mike, to you and your family. Hang in there.
Voltron Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 It's good that she reached peace, Mike, but it was awfully painful getting there. Condolences to Gail and you and the kids who lost their grandma.
