n_maher Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Congrats Ken and here's to hoping the house sells soon.
skullguise Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 At work trying to help figure out why our reporting servers and DB servers aren't talking with each other well all the time. Have a vendor on the hook to help, but they've sent uis what we already saw for possible fixes. Now I wait while our Op's group looks into them. Great news from many a folk otherwise, always happy to see good stuff here!!! Congrats to all, from places to rent, to new spouses, to bikes
n_maher Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Woops, missed the whole wedding news, congrats dbk.
tyrion Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Beer and sliders at the Pub. We miss you Gene. Jp's idea for the next is kilts mandatory.
agile_one Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Nice, Mike and John. Kilts ftw - you go first. Maybe Duggeh will drop by. Glad you boys are having a good time. Next FL faithful weekend should be in nyc or Portland.
blessingx Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Congrats diebenkorn. Glad you're able to stick around Ken. At work If it helps you aren't alone.
Absorbine_Sr Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Debbie and I are leaving soon to meet Bryan (Aura) and Allison a FFF.
morphsci Posted June 5, 2011 Author Report Posted June 5, 2011 Congrats on the marriage dbk. The sliders and beer look great Mike. FFF jealousy here.
Salt Peanuts Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Congrats to everyone and the food looks delicious, Mike.
n_maher Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 I had both kids home alone this afternoon while my wife went to the movies. Everything went and continues to go pretty well. Just having dinner with Lily right now while Andrew is asleep in his pack and play.
HeadphoneAddict Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Fixed and adjusted some broken sprinkler heads. Not watering the trampoline or deck anymore. Happy.
Salt Peanuts Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Went to a Greek festival couple of towns over. The food was pretty good and we had good time. We were disappointed that they didn't have carousel nor carnival games despite the fact both were shown on the website for the festival.

Just having dinner with Lily right now while Andrew is asleep in his pack and play. Here's to hoping she sees a good one -- there's some crap out there right now. Or at least she enjoys it, don't tell her I said said that if she enjoyed the movie. And nice of you to babysit. I know, I know, you love spending time with your kids -- I'm sure your wife still appreciates it.
diebenkorn Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Thank you guys so much. It was a great weekend and am glad it is over, next stop Deer Isle Maine.
Torpedo Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Fortunately removing the nail isn't a huge operation. With a little luck you won't need it. Glad to know it's not a serious pain. Get better.
Torpedo Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 It depends on what kind of nail is it and how deeply integrated it is within the bone. But yeah, I'd expect about 10 days resting until they remove the skin sutures and check the bone is stable. I'd be surprised it was much less.
Torpedo Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Yup, long one. Only femur nails are longer. No worries, I wouldn't expect much more than 10 days "out of order" for you.
Torpedo Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Hopefully you won't need those. Eventually one crutch for a few days to lessen weight charge on that leg. However I'm no traumatologist and it's been a long time since I was an intern there, so my expertise is limited.
boomana Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Congrats to ken and dbk! Jacob, I had a rod with eight screws from knee to ankle removed for same reason as you a couple years after it was first put in. It was a fast, easy deal, and only had to wear a cast (they have other options now, but this was back in the early 80s) until they took the staples out. It felt sooooo much better after.
Augsburger Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Errrr, never mind returning the sweater I loaned you back in December, I think I am fine for now. No, really keep the sweater.
jvlgato Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Damn, Jacob. Sorry 'bout your leg and also your bedbug psychosis. I know that when I was in med school, whenever I saw a case of any kind of skin parasite in a patient, I felt itchy and vigilant for the rest of the day. Eew. Part of the reason I became a shrink.
