mikeymad Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 ^^ I happen to like them both, but DOMi is definitely really good. Red (Expanded & Remastered Original Album Mix) by King Crimson (1974) https://album.link/i/918614446 Example: More Jazz than I remember, but it has been a while since I put this on. Very good, and doing things different as always. Like this 12.5 minute track. 3 Quote
robm321 Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Never before released live recording at Slugs' Saloon (1966). Surprisingly decent sound quality. It's quite good. 1 1 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 Crime Of The Century [2014 - HD Remaster] by Supertramp (1974) https://album.link/i/1440646658 Example: I always think of Supertramp from 79 into the 80s, not 1974. Even this does not feel like 74 to me. Just a high quality album from the tramp. 4 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Minor, Op. 61 - Tsintsadze: Miniatures by Lisa Batiashvili (2008) https://album.link/i/380160164 Example: So my friend in LA went and saw Lisa perform the Violin Concerto the other night and he thought it was wonderful. I took a look and saw that she recorded it back in 2008, one of her first recordings. While that was 17 years ago, it was still very good. I am sure hearing her live today would be even better. 1 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 But this was the Album Cover that I grew up with. Worlds Apart by Saga (1981) https://album.link/i/1457350358 Example: Don't listen to it for 20 years, then sing along with every lyric. Yup it is an album that is ingrained. Quote
mikeymad Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 Even In The Quietest Moments... by Supertramp (1977) https://album.link/i/1440868388 Example: Based on listening above, I just kept on listening to Supertramp... As I should... 2 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 (edited) for reasons Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me - Soundtrack (1992) https://album.link/i/46734067 Example: I was not up for watching this movie, but I was up for the amazing soundtrack by Badalamenti. Edited January 17 by mikeymad 5 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Caribou by Elton John (1974) https://album.link/i/1440912739 Example: I have to say I am a little mixed. Some top tier songs on this album, mixed with some that did nothing for me. May be could have not been a double album? Just saying. But I will accept it for the highs. Eldorado by Electric Light Orchestra (1974) https://album.link/i/1054523537 Example: ^^ one of the better non-Beatles Beatles songs.. Jeff Lynn and the team doing what they do... 3 Quote

Based on This^ This v Secret Love Letters by Lisa Batiashvili (2022) https://album.link/i/1627513869 Example: It is a little tough when you don't know the works, and further more not even familiar with the composers (Frank, Szymanowski, Chausson). But --- captivating? yup. Well recorded? yup (it is DG) And makes me want to see her perform at some point. 1 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 Distraction Rock 'n' Roll Animal (Live) by Lou Reed (1974) https://album.link/i/976827224 Example: I had a much different idea of Lou Reed from other works (mainly the Transformer album), but this was a killer set. 4 Quote
skullguise Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 ^^ The long intro to Sweet Jane is one of my all-time faves..... 3 Quote
mikeymad Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 Get Up With It by Miles Davis (1974) https://album.link/i/157447301 Example: Now this is an album that I really had to pay attention to. 8 tracks, 2+ hours. But I got a lot out of it for putting in the time. Gone are the days of Bitches Brew, and we are not yet to Big Fun. Like a lot of his work, he was doing something different. 2 Quote

robm321 Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 I don't listen to CPE Bach much, but I enjoyed this. The space it was recorded in comes through and creates a nice cozy environmnet. 2 Quote
