Dusty Chalk Posted August 27, 2021 Report Posted August 27, 2021 Same. I first heard about that record in this wonderful article: https://ew.com/music/trent-reznor-danny-elfman-big-mess-interview/ It starts out with some ridiculous mutual back-slapping, but seems sincere in their mutual admiration. But then it gets interesting... (stinger noise) 1
Dusty Chalk Posted August 27, 2021 Report Posted August 27, 2021 Neal Morse Band, Innocence & Danger They’re doing a prog, as the kids say. 1
mikeymad Posted August 27, 2021 Report Posted August 27, 2021 I am a big Spock's Beard fan from back in the day when it was fronted by Neal. I didn't follow him into his solo work (well I got the first album). It went too Christian for me. I had not heard of the Neal Mores Band project. I will add it to my list. thx 1
mikeymad Posted August 28, 2021 Report Posted August 28, 2021 Just watching Tim Henson do Tim Henson things for 8+ minutes. (btw - lead player for Polyphia) 1 1
Dusty Chalk Posted August 28, 2021 Report Posted August 28, 2021 Yeah, he's amazing. Thanks for that, will queue it up to watch later. 3 hours ago, mikeymad said: I am a big Spock's Beard fan from back in the day when it was fronted by Neal. It's definitely got some great ensemble playing. And I totally agree with you on the Christian thing, but I have a friend who's really into them, so I tolerate it. And it's like extreme metal like early Opeth -- I hate harsh vocals. HATE. But the music is so good, that I put up with it. 1

I was expecting more of the Variations. The second disc in the Mingus set is brutal. Considering to listening to this one No idea who this girl is, I am not very fond of previous Reznor or Ross output despite the good accolades, yet still curious. 1

TMoney Posted August 30, 2021 Report Posted August 30, 2021 Chvrches - Screen Violence Very solid 4th album from a band that at this point knows who they are and confidently embraces it. I'm really looking forward to seeing them live assuming the tour comes through San Francisco in December and isn't derailed by COVID. 2
Torpedo Posted August 30, 2021 Report Posted August 30, 2021 Yesterday I listened to Super db - Ecoute Ca I found this album due to a recommendation in the weekend newspaper. They said it's some mix of Earth, Wind & Fire, Supertramp, Steely Dan and other late 70's bands. What could go wrong? It's available at most streaming platforms Now just finished ZZ Top - Eliminator It's a pity Odesli isn't including links to Qobuz as well 3
