Dusty Chalk Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Stone Rebel -- instrumental guitar-based pop rock/hard rock/stoner -- really good for tuning out noises and letting me concentrate on work while snowed in and that infernal alarm going off on Bandcamp 1
Dusty Chalk Posted February 21, 2019 Report Posted February 21, 2019 https://tommy-guerrero-too-good.bandcamp.com/ Tommy Guerrero -- laid back instrumental poprock, groovy, listen to White Sands if nothing else: https://tommy-guerrero-too-good.bandcamp.com/track/white-sands San Franciscans, he's a local, so he probably plays out often 1
Whitigir Posted February 21, 2019 Report Posted February 21, 2019 Scooped up this original “thriller” in excellent condition from an old record store 2
HiWire Posted February 21, 2019 Report Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) Goldfrapp – Black Cherry This album never gets old for me – listened to it three times in a row (trying to sort out battery issues on my portable CD player) Edited February 21, 2019 by HiWire 5
ironbut Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Stumbled across this. Be sure and stick around for Linda Ronstadt's bit. 1
mikeymad Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Nice pull Steve.. I recorded this on VHS back in 1983 off cable. Randy Newman - Live at the Odeon. I would watch it over and over for gems like your post. I created a shitty digital copy from a homemade transfer to computer kit in the 2000s. I was very happy to find out that there was a DVD release - picked it up as soon as I could. I don't know if I have ever posted - but I watch it every holiday season (was recorded around Christmas) Not good audio on these two - but two additional Linda performances that kill me. Thanks again -- I will watch it again when I get home tonight...
ironbut Posted February 27, 2019 Report Posted February 27, 2019 Awesome Mikey! I'm happy to say that I've seen Linda a few times. First at the American Music Hall and later, with Neil Young at the Omni (both in Atlanta). No matter what the size of the venue, she instantly lights up a space with that voice.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 3, 2019 Report Posted March 3, 2019 They Might Be Giants used to have a song of the day number. Me: my favourite YouTube playlist (all instrumental stoner albums): 1
mikeymad Posted March 3, 2019 Report Posted March 3, 2019 The Telarc SACD of this is sounding very nice today 2
Dusty Chalk Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 Such a great album. Both sides are fantabulous. 1
