Dusty Chalk Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Creative Sounds 6006 CD Were you just put in the mood, or are you saying this is potentially a superior master?
faust3d Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) Were you just put in the mood, or are you saying this is potentially a superior master? This is another good version that is easy to find. I wanted to listen to this album once I saw Deepak's post. Edited June 16, 2011 by faust3d
Dusty Chalk Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 IMO it is the best version on CD (tonally sounds the closest to the original vinyl), and I have heard them all. Still I prefer the UK first pressing vinyl, but I only play them when I'm not "background" listening. The problem with that CD is it omits Sleeping Village and Warning due to the time limitation. I still can't get over that, truncating one of the best metal albums ever It is an oustandingly clean transfer. But ....really?!?!? They kept Rat Salad? And I'm familiar with the North American version, so I don't even really consider Evil Woman to be a part of the album, just a bonus track. They should have done the thing where they put half of one album on one disk, the other half on a second disk, and put a third album -- I don't know, Master of Reality, perhaps? -- on the remaining space of the second disk. I mean, I don't even care if they put out a disk called Master of Reality, and put the remainder of the Black Sabbath album on it, that'd be nice.

deepak Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 Hank Mobley - Another Workout (Music Matters 45 rpm) can't believe this was never originally released when it was recorded. I'm pretty sure it would have been just as big as Workout
Aura Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 Mono - Hymn to the Immortal World. Rather epic so far.
aardvark baguette Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 Gorillaz - Plastic Beach I can't believe how many people hate this one. Its clearly their best. They don't know what they are talking about.

Dusty Chalk Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Computer-generated random trance music from here. Some of it's crap, but every once in a while, you get a gem (can't seem to attach the gems, so you're going to have to just trust me on that).
deepak Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 AYE, US first pressing (mono Reprise tricolor label)
