jose Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 "Out of Africa" beautiful history and beautiful music. 1
HiWire Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 St. Vincent Her most successful pop album, I think. Masseduction was great, but her self-titled 2014 album has better, more emotionally honest songs. 1
Hopstretch Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Young The Giant -- Mirror Master Straightforward, but enjoyable. 1
HiWire Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Hop Along – Bark Your Head Off, Dog Folk / Punk / Art-rock from Philadelphia... love this album and looking forward to getting their previous ones
Torpedo Posted November 23, 2018 Report Posted November 23, 2018 Interesting metalish jazz or jazzy metal, who knows Harriet Tubman - The Terror End of Beauty. Available on Tidal for listening and on Bandcamp for purchase 1
Dusty Chalk Posted November 23, 2018 Report Posted November 23, 2018 The Art of Noise, In No Sense? Nonsense! deluxe edition

HiWire Posted November 25, 2018 Report Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) Mansun – Six It's strange I haven't ever listened to this album, or its predecessor, Attack of the Grey Lantern seriously (i.e., not while distracted at work)... I have the US versions, which have rearranged and substitute tracks compared to the UK releases. Fantastic Brit-rock for people with eclectic pop tastes. Complexly layered, passionately performed, and brilliantly composed, but ear candy nonetheless. Edited November 25, 2018 by HiWire 1

Dusty Chalk Posted November 27, 2018 Report Posted November 27, 2018 Majeure, Paragon 3 -- "...synth textures, atmospheres, and ambient pieces...", pretty much.
en480c4 Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 Emma Ruth Rundle - On Dark Horses Moody/Haunting Atmosphere? Check. Female Vocals? Check. Unspurprisingly, Ian-Approved. 1 1
Hopstretch Posted December 1, 2018 Report Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) The 1975 -- A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships This is getting some hyperventilating reviews like "OMG it's OK Computer for millennials!" which is bollocks of course. But it is very good in parts and quite thought-provoking as a whole. For me, the B-side kind of meanders a bit, but it's one of those rare albums nowadays that absolutely merits a few listens all the way through. Edited December 1, 2018 by Hopstretch
Torpedo Posted December 1, 2018 Report Posted December 1, 2018 I'm curious, listening to it on Tidal. The beginning sounds more like any of those crappy autotuned albums, then it becomes british formulaic pop without the guts of any punk or even Oasis. Well, they say fucking at some point. We'll see. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted December 3, 2018 Report Posted December 3, 2018 I ❤️ Pineapple Thief so much. Me: Brunt: 1
