Dusty Chalk Posted July 10, 2017 Report Posted July 10, 2017 How is the performance? I'm fond of Concierto de Aranjuez...but not familiar with that one.
robm321 Posted July 10, 2017 Report Posted July 10, 2017 Its very good. But as you know, there are many good ones. 1

TMoney Posted July 14, 2017 Report Posted July 14, 2017 If there is better music to listen to than Krautrock while cranking out legal documents I have not yet heard it. 2

Dusty Chalk Posted July 15, 2017 Report Posted July 15, 2017 If you can track down the early Kraftwerk, that is my favourite Krautrock. (Ralf und Florian, 1, 2, side two of Autobahn, and Tone Float by Organisaion). I do like Can, though. Never did track down all the SACDs, though. 2
Dusty Chalk Posted July 17, 2017 Report Posted July 17, 2017 There was a thread on sh.tv regarding Sabbath's heaviest riff, so I'm listening to a variety of Sabbath. (My vote goes to the bridge riff in "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" -- the third riff, essentially.)

swt61 Posted July 17, 2017 Report Posted July 17, 2017 Certainly one of the best! My favorite happens to be a duet soundtrack... 1
robm321 Posted July 17, 2017 Report Posted July 17, 2017 I'm partail to, Rain Dogs, but I'm not firm on that. Haven't heard the others in awhile. 1
GeorgeP Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Oddly, wasn't interested in Tom Waits until I heard Black Rider in the early 90s - its the soundtrack from some German (I think) theatrical production - not his best, but my favourite. 2
TMoney Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Are We There - Sharon Van Etten Massive hat-tip to the new season of Twin Peaks for turning me on to Sharon and a bunch of other acts I would not have otherwise noticed. Having a different band perform in the bar at the end of each episode is so damn cool. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted July 21, 2017 Report Posted July 21, 2017 Old Fire, Songs from the Haunted South on Tidal -- love this, funearally slow, sparse, heavy, momentous, post-rock-y, gorgeous, loads of atmosphere. Imagine 4AD meets late period Talk Talk meets ...the variety of vocalists puts me in mind of one of Stephen Merritt's projects. Superb. Recommended auditioning. 1
Hopstretch Posted July 22, 2017 Report Posted July 22, 2017 Lana Del Rey -- Lust For Life It's a shtick, but a very high-quality shtick so who cares? 4
jp11801 Posted July 24, 2017 Report Posted July 24, 2017 One of my favorite records for both music quality and sound 5
