Asr Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Sierra Hull - Daybreak. Found out about her while looking up Alison Krauss & Union Station's upcoming new album (Paper Airplane, 4/12!) and she has a similar type of low-key, pure-sounding voice (and is also bluegrass). Good stuff.
deepak Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Getting in a fusion mood thanks to Faust3D's thread revisiting some albums I haven't heard in a while
blessingx Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Sierra Hull - Daybreak. Giving it a shot on Mog.
mikeymad Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Giving it a shot on Mog. I enjoyed it - thanks Asr

Torpedo Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Martha Argerich, Claudio Abbado, BP - Prokofiev piano concert nr.3, Ravel piano concert in G-Major. The Strokes - Angles
NightWoundsTime Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) Helioscope - Vessels. I love me some mathy post-rockian endeavors especially if the drummer is a fucking beast. This one is. Edited March 19, 2011 by NightWoundsTime
NightWoundsTime Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) Speaking of mathy post-rock and beastly drummers, the biggest band still playing the game, Battles, seem to have given it up. Their new song is a whole other thing. I think I'm going to like this album when it hits (June release date). Edited March 20, 2011 by NightWoundsTime
Augsburger Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Reks, I dig that Chucho Valdez Cd, how does it sound on your system? Do you get all of that bass detail? On my headphone system and speakers this CD seems to have pretty good dynamics and realism.

faust3d Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Van der Graaf Generator - A Grounding in Numbers Listening to random songs from this album to get an idea of what they sound like nowadays. Interesting compositions and a new sound for VdGG. I think I am going to have to buy the last 3 albums on CD in the next month or so, I for some reason was putting it a way for some time now, yet all new albums are very solid.
robm321 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 In the mood for some Hammond B-3 Santana - Greatest Hits Terry Evans - Puttin' It Down
elnero Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Eric Bibb - Just Like Love This has been a favorite of mine for quite a few years now, it sounds even more fantastic out of the LCD-2's and Headroom Portable Desktop I have on loan from a friend.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 The Joy Formidable, The Big Roar -- take one part Lush, one part Metric, one part theStart...and then fill the rest of the shaker with rawk. Shake vigorously. Gets epically tasty at about the 3:20 mark.
deepak Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Boris - New Album Inoxia records vinyl I fucking love this band. Who else can go from making a jpop album to releasing a mega heavy drone album with Merzbow in the same year. Boris. Also Inoxia based out of Japan shipped me both vinyl albums in the midst of their earthquake/tsunami crisis. Insane
