Voltron Posted February 17, 2011 Author Report Posted February 17, 2011 Dave Brubeck Quartet -- Concord on a Summer Night Recorded in Dave's and my home town, back when my brother ran the Concord Jazz Festival as the booking & promotions manager of the Concord Pavilion.
Wmcmanus Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Fun read. I've got all of her albums and quite like her style, and yes she is quite cute, but I was certainly shocked that she was even nominated, let alone won.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Seefeel -- 15 years later, and they pick up where they left off, more or less. Bliss. You think they could have come up with a name for an album in that time, but noooo...
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 The Eternal, Under a New Sun -- "goth prog"...not proggy enough for me. Needs more unusual time signatures. Or something. EDIT: That said, there are several tracks on here that I am really enjoying -- old school -- "Collapse", "Despondency" are two of them.
blessingx Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 i hated that movie so much. Why do you hate good films?
Dusty Chalk Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Ron Jarzombek, Solitarily Speaking of Theoretical Confinement -- that's some technical metal right there. Ridiculous number of tracks, though. Found while googling "(odd OR unusual OR unorthodox) time-signatures", lulz. Sort of in the same vein as Zero Hour.

mypasswordis Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Listening to In Rainbows now for comparison. On mah Acoustats because I was a little too late in buying those farkin' Quads. I moved the speakers out another foot from the wall, to around 3.5 feet, and they sound much better. I bet they would sound glorious with the socks off (which is something some say about the Quads as well, the socks are just not acoustically transparent). Edited February 19, 2011 by mypasswordis
