mikeymad Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 ^ I listened to it three times since it was released, and I really like it. Maybe the album cover 'put a spell on me', but enjoyable. 1 Quote

I've told you, or you've heard of, this movie, right? This is one of the best documentaries ever. I mean, I may have event watched this with you, I just can't remember anymore. 2 Quote

Kids/teens/adults/senior citizens/etc. reacting to things. It's great! 1 Quote
TMoney Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 Los Angeles puts on a heck of a show, to the surprise of no one. Some of these acts have aged better than others, but pretty cool to see everyone on the two stages. 1 Quote

mikeymad Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 A little catch-up. I listened to this last Friday at the whisky gathering. And again right now. Live At The BBC by Marianne Faithfull https://album.link/i/1444089414 Example: Just lovely.. RIP 4 Quote
mikeymad Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Cal Tjader Plays, Mary Stallings Sings by Cal Tjader (1961) https://album.link/i/1444024038 Example: Holy Poop. I am not sure why I didn't know that this existed. I get inputs from all over the place, and I just keep adding them to my queue. I work my way through, best as I can, listening. About 1 in 10 are worthy of a post. This is one of the 1 in 10. 1 1 Quote

mikeymad Posted February 17 Report Posted February 17 John Field: Complete Nocturnes by Alice Sara Ott (2025) https://album.link/pg4pckdqkhgkf (I created an account - so I will start adding Qubuz to the ones when I post, this does not change the main page, it is a custom page. So I am not sure how long I will do this) Example: A lovely recording by Ott. Had me reading up on Field and his contribution to the Nocturne. 2 1 Quote

mikeymad Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Hurry Up Tomorrow by The Weeknd (2025) https://album.link/pg2q2hhj4snk2 (my link including QOBUZ) Example: I like the vibes of this album and there is a lot of hooks (some directly from Michael Jackson). Is it good, yup. Is it too long, absolutely. I will have to give this another listen, but most likely in chunks. One and a half hours of songs that are very samey in my head, looses my interest a bit. But there are some things that hit hard, just hate to not care anymore when they come. 1 Quote
aerius Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Youtube can make some pretty good suggestions at times. 1 Quote
mikeymad Posted February 24 Report Posted February 24 ^Yup - because reasons. First Take by Roberta Flack (1969) https://album.link/fhckknsjpptxq Example: good from the beginning... 2 Quote

mikeymad Posted Friday at 01:54 AM Report Posted Friday at 01:54 AM And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out by Yo La Tengo (2000) https://album.link/rgfjshvn4bxsv Example: Sometimes you just need a little 2000 indie to mellow out your day... Worked well. Also staying away from my phone and taking a walk on the volcano... 3 Quote
mikeymad Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM Music From "The Elder" by Kiss (1981) https://album.link/jkfd7vxwp0kst Example: Wait, is Kiss good actually? I went into this blind. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. More of a concept album with progy elements. Just what I like. Are there some bad tunes, sure. But there are some great tunes. I read more about it later, and there are many that HATE this album. Oh well. I have never been one to follow trends very well. 2 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM Report Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM Lots and lots of Bjørn Riis -- did an entire discog run and then some (repeated many tracks) "He really digs Pink Floyd" Example: 6 hours ago, mikeymad said: Music From "The Elder" by Kiss (1981) https://album.link/jkfd7vxwp0kst Example: Wait, is Kiss good actually?
