mikeymad Posted December 19, 2023 Report Posted December 19, 2023 ^^ I watched the Tiny desk the other day when it came out. Was not compelled to post. I thought it was good, I really liked her tone and style, and that was about it. I didn't really care about a 'jazz' label on it, and still really don't. It's music and it is good. Enjoy. So. I saw this yesterday and I really liked the song when I first heard it and how it was used in the movie. I took the time and listened to it again, on a good rig and with headphones. I can say that it is an audio treat, layering and depth of field. Really well done. What Was I Made For? Half the time, it's just songs that aren't based on loops.
mikeymad Posted December 22, 2023 Report Posted December 22, 2023 I never thought of Josh doing Broadway. It is what he should have been doing. Such lovely tone. Anyway, I never really was drawn to seeing Todd before. But my interest is peaked more than before. I think that Johnny Depp movie threw me off.
blessingx Posted December 24, 2023 Report Posted December 24, 2023 I found this in a local deep dive earlier in the year and played a few times in prep for the season, but what do you know Amy Sedaris just posted a clip this morning on the gram so offering up this odd, but wonderful, concert for anyone else. Bob Green seemed like a great guy. Battle of the Bulge to Julliard to years of Christmas specials in the heart of Silicon Valley - Mountain View's public access channel. 1 1 1

mikeymad Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 La Petite (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Ludovico Einaudi 2023 https://album.link/i/1711280464 Example: Short album of short tracks. And I like them all. I have not seen this movie, but I have a trigger on TIDAL for Ludovico, so gave it a listen. I wish I could use some of this music to accompany my drone shots, but I would get content matches. Anyway, just lovely melodies. Not a lot of heavy lifting here. 2
robm321 Posted December 28, 2023 Report Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) A live performance with very good interplay and well recorded. Supposedly they had never rehearsed or played together. Edited December 28, 2023 by robm321 3

mikeymad Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 (edited) ^^ I have had that on the top of my queue for a couple week now and have been listening to it on and off, but didn't get around to posting yet, great minds. I really liked it, as well as her 2019 release that I have been listening to as well. mikeymad Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Based on this: This The Journey Matteo Mancuso 2023 https://album.link/i/1680034607 Example: Jazz, Rock, Fusion, the album covers a lot of ground. Mostly I think of it as a jazz guitar instrumental album. At least that is why I would return to it for future listening. I liked the interview to see his techniques, which are really cool, before listening. Techniques only matter to me when I can hear them in the final product, which now I can, and I am not sure I would have before. Look forward to future growth as a writer. 2
