robm321 Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) Superb sound quality and music. Must listen. I mean YMMV. Its very sparse. An example wouldn't really show much. You kind of have to listen to it all or nothing. It definitely connected with me. https://www.stereophile.com/content/recording-february-2023-wheel Edited January 26, 2023 by robm321 2
mikeymad Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 ^^ I have that in my queue, because of the same source. :} Now: The Best of the Bothy Band The Bothy Band 1988 https://album.link/i/272543263 Example: Who does not like a Jig in a Bothy? It reminds me of my trip to Scotland and staying at a BnB in Glen Coe, there was a three person band playing amazing traditional tunes (one the smallest stage possible). As my friend Richard and I shared the bourbon we brought with the Scots, as we swilled their single malt. 1

Oh and Vilray can sing well too. :} {And maybe I like her Carly Simon looks as well} Yeah, but...that voice...with that clean guitar tone... Kinda reminds me of Les Paul and Mary Ford without the overdubbing. 3
mikeymad Posted January 27, 2023 Report Posted January 27, 2023 The Seville Concert [Expanded Edition] John Williams 1994 https://album.link/i/264719171 Example: One of the great recordings. I have had this since it came out, and I always wanted more, and now there is. I don't know when they expanded it, but I am glad they did. Just top notch performance and engineering in one. 3
mikeymad Posted January 28, 2023 Report Posted January 28, 2023 One year after her last release. Now we have the sessions. Released yesterday. The Apathy Sessions Aoife O'Donovan 2023 https://album.link/i/1661841434 Example: Just happy to have more Aoife to appreciate. (additional 9 tracks) 2
jpelg Posted January 29, 2023 Report Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) Probably one of Ritchie's more underrated movies, I love this one just as much as others. The soundtrack is a nice, eclectic mix of era-appropriate songs to match the storyline, along with new compositions by Daniel Pemberton that again match the era & storyline (such as the linked "The Vinciguerra Affair" cut). mikeymad Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 Vivaldi: The Four Seasons - Geminiani: Concerti grossi Nos. 4 & 12 Boston Baroque, Martin Pearlman, Christina Day Martinson 2009 https://album.link/i/1545716709 Example: From Telac, back when Telarc was still a thing. So as you would expect, very well recorded. 2
