JoaMat Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 Johan Dalene – violin. Still a teenager I think, but he'll grew older. 4
Dusty Chalk Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 He has a better violin face than some guitarists have their guitar face.

JoaMat Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) Saw Count Baise at Palais des Beaux-Arts, 1961 on Mezzo TV. Sometime YouTube is great. Edited January 26, 2020 by JoaMat 2 1

JoaMat Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 When Art Blakley – Moanin' finished my Roon recommended: Miles Davis – Birth of The Cool Date recorded 21 Jan 1949 -9 Mar 1950. (Ref. Roon) 4
Dusty Chalk Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 I love that album. What’s different about this version?
mikeymad Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 transcribed the solos into French? But available to listen.. 2
JoaMat Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 Qobuz has 13 versions of Miles Davis – Birth of The Cool. A marketing trick signed Philip Kotler?
recstar24 Posted January 29, 2020 Report Posted January 29, 2020 Muddy Waters - Folk Singer (AP 33) the rs1’s really make it pretty magical sounding 7
mikeymad Posted January 29, 2020 Report Posted January 29, 2020 ^^ truly one of the great recordings. 1
Kattefjaes Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) The.. and I love being able to say this... new Squarepusher album! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lb3RkVZOSxQTx1XBHQ7PeAIzQ_Jd8AAjk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlhV-OKHecI ..is particularly nuts. It runs the gamut, quite a lot of nice mellow stuff on there too. Due to his broken arm and inability to let rip on "real" instruments, it has a very electronic feel, very Hard Normal Daddy-ish. Very happy with that. Edited January 31, 2020 by Kattefjaes 2
Hopstretch Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 New Destroyer Album also out today. It's pretty great. 1
JoaMat Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 Swedish television sent a documentary tonight “Miles Davis – Birth of the Cool” https://www.svtplay.se/video/25354227/miles-davis-birth-of-the-cool , can only be seen in the Swedish mainland?. Maybe a VPN service pointing to Sweden might help. Speaker voice and sub title in Swedish, but the rest in English. And the music speaks for itself. Else – Kind of Blue – 31 versions on Qobuz?! Kind Of Blue (Mono Version).pdf
ironbut Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) KQED tv in the SF Bay Area is showing it on Feb 25th. "The Birth Of the Cool" is part of the American Masters series here in the states. Can't wait!!!!!! https://video.kqed.org/video/miles-davis-full-trailer-7g0kyq/ The promo is interesting. Seeing the clip of Santana reminded me that I ran into Carlos in the audience of Miles' last concert in the Bay Area (Paul Mason Winery). The first time I saw Carlos Santana at a concert ( as an audience member) was when Leonard Bernstein and the NYP played at Concord Pavilion. Edited February 1, 2020 by ironbut 1
JoaMat Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Great, thank you. To be able to see the trailer I had the VPN service pointing to U.S. I’m sure this is what I saw tonight on the Swedish Public Service.
