bjarnetv Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 Went to a record trade fair this morning, and found lots of nice records. An old lady was selling some jazz records, and i started looking through a box of Karin Krog releases, and she said she would sign it if i bough it... Turns out the old lady was Karin Krog! Ended up buying three of her records after she told me a bit about them. How could i resist? 7

On top of that, I muted my phone, but the alarm still went off. But yeah, she had great form, played perfectly and with virtuosity, and did it all looking fantastic in that dress.Sent from my mind using id, ego, or superego... Thanks, Dusty. I'll try to catch her when she hits Madrid. Besides her sexy looks and shape, I think she's a good, sensitive and probably reflexive (in a not very long term) pianist. 1

aardvark baguette Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 (edited) They have it in 192 FLAC now. I meant to get it a few years ago and didn't get around to it. It's avant garde, but tolerable, which is a tricky balance. Just odd enough to be interesting. Edited February 15, 2017 by aardvark baguette
EdipisReks1 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 it's not an album I listen to a lot, but it's a great line up, and fun (keep in mind that I love Sam River's Crystals).
aardvark baguette Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Final Fantasy Piano Collections I never even played the games, but they are some of my favorite piano music. I lost track of these and had to buy them again, which sucked. Expensive. 2

recstar24 Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) That is a fantastic cover! Edited February 16, 2017 by recstar24
Dusty Chalk Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 I just discovered this album -- it's fantastic. Post-rock, for lack of a better term. Right up there with Out of Season by Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man, not quite up to Spirit of Eden levels, but close.
Hopstretch Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 ^^^ I see anything compared to Spirit Of Eden, I go find. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 It's got that same patience, otherwise it's completely different. Basically, nothing compares to Spirit of Eden. That said, give it a listen. I think I listened to it 5 times yesterday, I'm totally hooked.
aardvark baguette Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 dsd version is wonderful 4
aardvark baguette Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 man it is nice to have a real music player again. 2
Dusty Chalk Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 Grails, Chalice Hymnal (link also link) and Deep Politics (link) alternately -- these are great -- just plain ol' instrumental rock, of the indie/alternative persuasion. I prefer Chalice Hymnal by a small margin. 1
