acidbasement Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 Haggard - Eppur Si Muove Medieval-classical-metal mashup. It's really good, for those not in the know.
robm321 Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) ^ If you haven't already, check out Jonny Greenwood & Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima/Popcorn Superhet Receiver/Polymorphia/48 Responses to Polymorphia (ht to CT). Acquired and listened to. Like. Thanks again. Now Edited February 21, 2013 by robm321
Trav Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Blue Mitchell Sextett - Park Avenue Petite
Dusty Chalk Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 ^ Such a great album, one of the few popular albums I really like. Me: Atoms for Peace (Thom Yorke's new project), Amok
Dusty Chalk Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 How to Destroy Angels, Welcome Oblivion -- going through this list, basically. EDIT: You know what? This is kind of annoying, actually. Tracks like "Strings and Attractors" and "On the Wing" are just...I don't know...annoying. (And yeah, kind of sounds like some recent Autechre stuff, which I also find annoying.)

Dusty Chalk Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Johnny Marr, The Messenger -- classic Johnny Marr, accessible jangly guitar Brit-pop, makes you want to learn guitar, recording, and make records.
Hopstretch Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds -- Push The Sky Away As a longtime fan:
Dusty Chalk Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 It's a little more downbeat than others, but I still like it, you have to be in a patient mood. How did you like No More Shall We Part? It sort of hit me the same way when I first heard it. Oh, and I love his voice. I might have to steal a few mannerisms from him.
skullguise Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Just picked the new CD up on vacation, haven't listened yet. Thanks for the impression Dusty, it will help set my expectation. I liked No More... But it did take a bit....
Mellifluous Crunk Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Dexter Gordon - I Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry. Great song title, great tune. Robert Rich Brilliant ambient artist. I really dig his collaboration with Lustmord.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Theologian, The Chasms of My Heart -- damnbient
