revolink24 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) Sufjan Stevens - Illinois. Stevens' talent for composition, musicality, and tone-painting really shines in this album. One of the few popular indie acts I know of with such sophisticated songwriting. Edited June 15, 2012 by revolink24 Quote

Dusty Chalk Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 In the car been listening to Black Heart Procession and Skinny Puppy, alternatively. I need to find a stack of blank CD-R's so I can listen to other stuff in the car until I can afford an iPod FM modulator. At home, been going around bandcamp -- Diary of Dreams, Unwoman, Majeure, Lo-Fi Resistance -- and Spotify -- Make Good Your Escape, Maccabees, iLikeTrains, et al. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Oh, and can't believe I forgot Stomacher! I actually helped to fund Clara -- go listen to it on streaming, at the very least. Male-voiced alternative/Indie poprock is the genre. Nice diverse album, listen to the whole thing before you render judgment. Quote

Dusty Chalk Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Thrice! Me: Peaking Lights, Lucifer -- dubby upbeat downbeat. Some of the most unironically happy music I've ever listened to...and enjoyed. Quote
