mypasswordis Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Have you heard Atheist? You might like them No, thanks for the rec. Currently listening, not really a fan of the vocals as of now but could change. I'm listening to the older albums first.
deepak Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 No, thanks for the rec. Currently listening, not really a fan of the vocals as of now but could change. I'm listening to the older albums first. Unquestionable Presence is their classic album. Piece of Time is good too. They are quite different from Messhuggah, but are also technical/experimental.

NightWoundsTime Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Marissa Nadler - s/t This album's sitting on Pitchfork's "Overlooked Records 2011" list. The description was intriguing, and finding her on Bandcamp pretty much guaranteed that I'd buy it. $5 for FLAC, or more if you're feeling generous. Also like the backstory to this album, funded by fans through Kickstarter. Actually the kickstarter page is still open and a direct $35 donation gets you an autographed CD, vinyl, and the download. <3 artists that embrace the real 'net. Dusty Chalk Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Lonehill Estate -- Technoband You're! Gonna! Be! In! It! Love it. I mean, I'm already partial to synthpop, so it's a given, but really dug this. Me: Afield Recordings (Vol. 1) by Stripmall Architecture -- they put together a fairly downtempo selection for this, which works delightfully holistically.
