Okay, this is just retarded. They seem to draw the conclusion that looking at pictures of cute cats leads to improved work performance. My theory is that pictures of cute cats just make for a better reward, and it's the "better reward" that led to improved work performance. I bet if it was cute cats vs. rent money, the people getting rent money would do better.
