roadtonowhere08
Yup, that's from the Israeli attack on the UN school in Beit Lahia. http://www.guardian....thepalestinians Phosphorus? Unbelievable! I get that there are terrorists on the Palestinian side (obviously), but this was a sanctioned attack by a country. And they wonder why the world opinion of Israel is not favorable... For some horrendous statistics, have a look at this http://www.btselem.org/ , the website of an *Israeli* human rights organisation. One quote: "Ninety percent of [Gaza] factories and industrial workshops have closed, and the rest have had to scale back operations. After Operation Cast Lead, the International Red Cross reported that 3,750 businesses had closed and that approximately 40,000 persons (some 94 percent of workers in these businesses) had lost their jobs." They seem to have become even more adamant and reclusive following Palestines bid for statehood, the arab uprising (they lost a trusted supporter with Mubarak, and the general fluidity of the region seems to intimidate them) and the whole issue with Syria and Iran. Israels response consist of building fences, ending contact with UNESCO, and demanding USA to take action against Iran. The US responds by vetoing against the Palestinian bid, and cut funding of UNESCO. Sure, it can't be easy being Israel, but then again they don't seem trying to improve the matters either. Palestinian poverty brought on by Israeli blockades and walls as well as bullying tactics only serve to recruit more terrorists. Either they (the Israeli government) are too dense to understand that, or they want that. At this point, I would not be surprised if it was a little bit of both.
