shellylh Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Flattery will get you everywhere, Shelly, right, Mike? :) Good looking drink Al and Marc (especially the Yolanda and Mai Tai). *Anvil time* for me: Rum Alexander This is one delicious cocktail. My husband took one sip of mine and claimed it as his own! I made another and, unfortunately, it was so good that I already finished mine. 1 oz Gosling's dark rum 1/2 oz Marie Brizzard creme de cacao 1/2 oz heavy cream sprinkles of cinnamon on top
morphsci Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Damn, nice going early birds. The Yolanda looks interesting and the Mai Tai looks seriously kick-ass. Trying my hand at The Japalac Cocktail 1 oz High West Rendevous Rye 1 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth 1/2 oz Orange Juice 1 tsp Raspberry Syrup Shake, double strain and garnish with an orange twist Funny name but tasty.
grawk Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I've gotten into trouble several times b/c of black seal...
emelius Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 last night I had a New Holland Chartooka Rye...big fan of ryes, but not a big fan of New Holland... tonight it was an Orval & a Péché Mortel...& now a Firestone Walker Double Jack...
shellylh Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I've gotten into trouble several times b/c of black seal... Jim: Looks pretty good, although, the name of that drink is making me crave a martini with japaleno stuffed olives.
Voltron Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Japalac looks promising in a weird way. The rum Alexander looks very tasty, and I can see why you sloshed it down quickly. The brandy version aint half bad neither.
luvdunhill Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Anvil Manhattan No. 1 (Savoy) 2 dashes curaçao or maraschino (1 tsp Creole Shrubb) 1 pony whiskey (1 oz. Handy) 1 wineglass vermouth, mixed (1 oz. Carpano and 1 oz Dolin dry) 3 dashes angostura (1 tsp angostura) 2 small lumps of ice Shake and strain into a claret glass. Put a quarter of lemon in the glass and serve.
