F1GTR Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Sippin on some Very Very Old Fitzgerald from 65.
shellylh Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Congrats is appropriate here -- one for Shelly and one for hubby! Congrats! Going to toast you with Parker's 27 cause that's a lot of years! congrat(s) and cheers Shelly Thanks! We tried out a "new" restaurant (Branch Water Tavern http://www.branchwatertavern.com/) with great food and a really nice bar that I will have to check out some more in the future... lots of bourbon/ryes and nice cocktails.
guzziguy Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Happy Anniversary to Shelly and hubby!
raffy Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Happy Anniversary Shelly and hubby! Congrats!
Voltron Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 I hope you had a bourbon & branch! Seems kind of obvious, but maybe not the most exciting. Come to think of it, I have never ordered that at Bourbon & Branch so I can't really complain, but there ain't no branch water handy in these parts.
mypasswordis Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Congrat Shelly. Tonight shall be... absinthe cocktail night. Possibly mixed in with a couple (dozen?) shots of whiskey.
grawk Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Great Divide 17th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA
NightWoundsTime Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Grats Shelly! Drinking Abita 25th Anniversary Vanilla Doubledog. Turbodog has always been a cheap available fave of mine so this is nice. Still very much the same style just refined in some ways, and stronger.
Absorbine_Sr Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 Remember the Maine. Taking a deeper dive into the cocktail dark side..... Unfortunately, no lemon for a garnish. I am but an egg.
morphsci Posted December 18, 2011 Author Report Posted December 18, 2011 Congrats to Shelly and Hubby! Nice Mike. The glass looks like it has a perfect frost. Approved!
shellylh Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) Very nice Mike! Al: I've never had Bourbon and Branch. Looking up the recipe it seems to be bourbon and a lot of water??? Watery bourbon sounds yuck. Maybe would be ok with sparkling water? Edited December 18, 2011 by shellylh
morphsci Posted December 18, 2011 Author Report Posted December 18, 2011 Branch water is technically the same water used to bring the Bourbon to proof. In reality any filtered water should work fine as the goal is to not change the character of the Bourbon. You are only supposed to use a splash.
Voltron Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 @Shelly; what he said^ @Mike: excellent work Padawan!
shellylh Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) That sounds a lot better than 1:2 ratio of bourbon to water! Having a little Knickerbocker before dinner. Edited December 19, 2011 by shellylh
emelius Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 Mikkeller Green Gold IPA....better than a lot of their other IPA offerings...
Voltron Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Just for Marc, it's Fernet Branca Night! First, a shooter with ginger beer back. And close your eyes Shelly, I don't want you to be sick. Edited December 19, 2011 by Voltron
