mikeymad Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 /\/\ looks like I matched the pour to the fill level ...
Voltron Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Maybe a lot of rum... The Mikey Mac Attack got to me and lacking any Mac I went Irish. I like the matching level pic.
mikeymad Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 really liked that Cooley... good call and monster pour...
Voltron Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Yup. Between the death penalty case brief, the post-trial brief in the paying case, the never-ending finish tomthe remodel, and the AT&T Internet saga, I need a little numbness. 1
mikeymad Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Okay for you my friend... Night-nightcap... --> Black Bulll 30yo 50%
Voltron Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Thanks for sticking with me buddy. I appreciate it. On the third Cooley Irish. Edited November 4, 2011 by Voltron
The Monkey Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 2007 B Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard
NightWoundsTime Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Because some people I know are partying without me, I tore into a Jolly Pumpkin Fuego Del Otono, 2009. Love this beer.
Fitz Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 This reminded me I've had one in the back of the fridge for a few weeks. Having it now.
teufelshunde Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 OK - now it's after 6pm Left Coast time:
morphsci Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) First, I finally got up the nerve for the clear rye throwdown: This will be a non-Skylab, non-HPA review. The Wasmund's clear rye spirit remained as hideously vile as I remembered. The Barbershop clear rye was merely vile. However, since the Barbershop is significantly more expensive I declare it a tied FAIL. I needed something to cleanse my palate so I went with an improved Lucien Gaudin cocktail: 1 1/2 oz Junipero Gin 1/2 oz Mandarine Napolean 1/2 oz Gran Classico Bitters 1/2 oz Vya extra dry Vermouth Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist. Edited November 5, 2011 by morphsci
Voltron Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 lol. Sorry I talked you into that purchase! Maybe using it in a cocktail will hide some vileness.
The Monkey Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Gotta agree with Mikey on the Barbershop review. That stuff sucks.
Fitz Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Put to a vote in the CS:S game I'm playing, drink decision was a negroni, so I decided to make a fairly large one:
teufelshunde Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 My wife concocted this as a variant of a Moscow Mule - she calls it a Jack & Ginger, I call it yummy

I approve of the improved Lucien Gaudin cocktail! From earlier today: FFF/Brewdog Bitch Please and Clown Shoes Balcorn Unidragon Russian Imperial Stout (shared with a couple of friends). Loved the Bitch Please but it wouldn't be something I would want to drink every week. The RIS was nice too. Fitz: That is one excellent looking Negroni. Edited November 5, 2011 by shellylh
emelius Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 I'm at a beer event...will post more later... but to give you some idea: Dark Lord Eggnog...
Voltron Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Opened up my FFF Evil Power while moving back into SF because I have not knowingly had an imperial pilsner before this one. Realizing I was hungry, I decided to reprise my fried egg and bacon sammich with FFF brew (because it is the only food in the house). Very tasty all around. Thanks to Mike Sr. and Bryan for the box of FFF and other brews. \m/
