morphsci
Thought this would be a good place to note that DrinkUpNY is discontinuing its free shipping of orders over $99 to most states on 11/1. I will be placing a "small" order before that date. Just Sayin'.
shellylh
Germain-Robin Coast Road Reserve - so good and so much better than their Craft Method Brandy (formerly known as Fine Alambic Brandy). This makes me want to try the XO. I am glad I found a supplier that sells more than just the Anno Domini or XO here. morphsci
I hope there were bitters in that Manhattan Raffy, else it is not really a manhattan. The rum Collins looks quite stout Marc with the Wray and Nephew overproof. Not a big fan of the Americano. I love the name and look of that IPA Al. Decided for a little nostalgia and made a Violet Hour Aviation 2 oz Junipero Gin 1/2 oz Luxardo Maraschino 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice 1/4 oz Creme de Violette Shake, double strain and garnish with a cherry or two. I asked Damien why he suggested the lime substitution and he said it was because in his experience the Maraschino worked better with lime than with lemon. I do believe he is on to something. I couldn't find any better ones at Total Wine when I went there.

luvdunhill
Jim, what a beautiful drink! With the Americano, is it really just a splash of soda? I think it could work served more in a highball fashion.

morphsci
..... With the Americano, is it really just a splash of soda? I think it could work served more in a highball fashion. Regan uses 2 oz of soda and uses a highball glass, so your instincts are good. I should also add that my previous comment was when using Campari. I definitely need to try it with the Gran Classico. Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye neat. You are not messing around tonight sir! morphsci
Wow, that is an impressive series of collages Mikey. Color me impressed. Decided to use up the lime juice on a Moonlight Cocktail 2 oz Plymouth Gin 1/2 oz Creme de Violette 1/2 oz Cointreau 1/2 oz Lime Juice Shake and double strain into a Champagne flute. The Aviation was better. Edited October 19, 2011 by morphsci

Augsburger
1998 Kalen Semillon. I noticed the cork had some leakage and broke apart as I opened the bottle so figuring the wine was oxidized I poured half of it over my chicken marsala and in another pan a chicken with cajun and chinese mustard sauce. A bit pre mature on that move as the wine tastes fine, a little too much oak but not bad. silly me. Mikey that must have been some meet, nice selection.
