mikeymad Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 found a Makers Mark cocktail this morning: http://www.whiskyintelligence.com/2011/08/labor-day-libations-refreshing-cocktail-to-toast-the-end-of-summer-american-whiskey-news/
manaox2 Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Bourbon barrel aged woodchuck hard cider. The bourbon taste is very george stagg. More study of this will be required.
Absorbine_Sr Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 A Tanqueray Rangpur and Fever Tree G&T. Finally got some more Fever Tree and life is sunny and good.
Voltron Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Mike's drink sounds far superior to Dan's.
Absorbine_Sr Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Mine sounds superior to both. Agreed. I will join you with one of those a little bit later.
shellylh Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) Is it OK? Only if you hold your nose and shoot it quickly... oh and finish with lime. Edited September 1, 2011 by shellylh
morphsci Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 Only if you hold your nose and shoot it quickly. Understood.
naamanf Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Or as I suggested to Rexy, mix with Alize, Hypnotic, and R/C cola.
mikeymad Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Shelly wins... but thanks to Naaman.. a lot of people win.
Absorbine_Sr Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Cheers!! Thanks again to naaman.
mikeymad Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) Well I poured it to be funny in another thread... now I guess I have to drink it... Angel's Envy: (I guess the joke is on me) Edited September 1, 2011 by mikeymad
Absorbine_Sr Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Rittenhouse 25 Manhattan. It is a very nice evening.
shellylh Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 That is a pretty big pour Mikey (unless that is a mini bottle and glass). Think I need a Rittenhouse 25 Manhattan!
luvdunhill Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Well, someone had to do it: Bensonhurst 1¾ shot / 50 ml / 1¾ oz rye whiskey ⅔ shot / 20 ml / ⅔ oz dry vermouth (Blanc) 1 bar-spoon maraschino 1 bar-spoon Cynar Stir over ice then strain in to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a large twist of orange zest (oops!)
Voltron Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 First I had a Ransom Old Tom gin old fashioned and now I am having an Old Parr Scotch whisky old fashioned. Wonder what "old" booze I can find for the next one.
Absorbine_Sr Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 North Shore and Dolin Dry martini. I keep seeing Jim posting drinks with North Shore gin. Now I know why. Thank you for the inspiration my southern Illinois friend.
morphsci Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 This x2 while picking the most awesome fantasy league team evar! Now
Voltron Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Freshe out of ye olde Dewe. Didn't get my Rittenhouse today. Soon I hope...
luvdunhill Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) do you like the stuff? It's very different than any Calvados I've had. It's very good, but it's its own beast. Very complex, has an apple nose but the finish is a date flavor with a mild burn. Maybe I'd describe it as the Lagavulin of calvados. Edited September 1, 2011 by luvdunhill
