shellylh Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Bitter Elder 3/2 oz Plymouth Gin 3/4 oz Campari 1/2 oz St Germain 1/2 oz lemon juice The recipe I saw called for 3/4 oz St Germain but I thought that would be too sweet. I like it!
Augsburger Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 2007 Le Petit Vice Cabernet Sauvignon. Reminds me of Beckstofer ToKallon vineyards for some reason, starting to open up real nice.
luvdunhill Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Gale Force Gin, Dolin Rouge, and Campari Negroni x2
Fitz Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Reminds me that I need to buy some more gin.
Voltron Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I started to make a Mountain Man and realized too late that I am out of Cocchi Americano. I made a twist on the recipe with 2oz Tennessee whiskey, .50 Bonal, .50 Averna, and two dashes orange bitters. More bitter profile but quite tasty.
Fitz Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I've had a fair bit of whisk(e)y over the course of the night without barely feeling the effects. I don't know if I should be sad I don't get a buzz, or happy I can enjoy that much without any hindrance.
Aura Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Raffy - JEALOUS. Al - Let me know what you think of The Dissident. Been wanting to try that one for ages.. hopefully I'll come across it sometime.
emelius Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 New Belgium Lips of Faith Kick... 75% ale brewed with pumpkin & cranberry juice...25% ale aged in wooden barrels...a collaboration with Elysian(Dick)... I think it's very good & preferable to most (but not all) of the other fall seasonals...
morphsci Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 Fior di Sicily 3/4 oz Averna amaro 3/4 oz Carpano Antica 3/4 oz Aperol 3/4 oz St. Germain Elderflower liqueur Stir and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a flamed orange peel. Meh, at least I got to play with fire.
Fitz Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 A healthy glass of Lillet since I haven't really been using it in cocktails like I thought I would, followed by a Schneider Aventinus.
emelius Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) New Belgium Lips of Faith Clutch...Dark Sour Ale...collab with the band of the same name... not nearly as good as Kick...buy Kick:)...or go back in the series... Edited August 31, 2011 by emelius
emelius Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 I've never even seen Kick around here. :\ It's new:)... Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA....their jab at the new naming sytem...I'm in the minority here..I prefer Cascadian Dark to calling something a Black India Pale Ale... in either case, though, this is a great example of the style:)...

Fitz Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 It's new:)... Well I actually hit up the usual suspects earlier tonight to restock the liquor cabinet and grab a minikeg of Oberon for the weekend, and didn't see it. But hopefully it'll make its way down here at some point. (semi) Local Brew Tuesday: Sierra Nevada: Southern Hemisphere Harvest Fitzy approves.
morphsci Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Well, since the last Averna cocktail was pretty fluffy I decided to try Al's Mountain Man modification 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon, 1/2 oz Bonal, 1/2 oz Averna, 2 dashes Bittercube Orange Bitters and a flamed Orange peel as garnish because I still wanted to play with fire. Ahhhh, much better. Edited August 31, 2011 by morphsci
