morphsci Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) That sounds like a tasty Bonal and Rye Shelly. The Tonga Room drink menu looks like it should keep you entertained for a while Marc. Cheers Al! Edit: Finished off the Gale Force (Thanks again Marc and Todd) and the North Shore 11 today. emelius Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I went to a tasting yesterday and spent the rest of the evening tracking down places to drink the He'Brew Coney Island Buffalo Trace BBA Human Blockhead Imperial Bock. Both the regular Human Blockhead and the BBA Blockhead are amazingly good beers. I brought a bottle home. glug glug glug... I've got......HOPPY FEET!...
Voltron Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Koppi. It picks you while it hops you out! Pretty damn tasty. Maybe more coffee flavor will come through as it warms a bit.
emelius Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Clown Shoes Brown Angel Double Brown...I hear this is great on cask...pretty darned tasty as is...
morphsci Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 A Vesper variation called a Matin 3 oz vodka 1 oz gin 1/2 oz Campari Stir, strain and garnish with a lemon peel.
morphsci Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Yes, yes it is. Very negroni-ish as you would expect but less sweet and with a higher alcohol content. What's not to like?
shellylh Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Tried out Jim's Matin but decided it was too Vodkaish for me. So I made myself a dirty martini with Citadelle Reserve Gin and Dolin Dry. That hits the spot.
emelius Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp Belgian IPA....good stuff... Clown Shoes Clementine Witbier...like this...pretty solid...
Voltron Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Turns out Marin high school teachers know how to party.
HeadphoneAddict Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 I let Tyler pick the beer over lunch today, and he picked a nice laughing lab that I liked. I should pay more attention to this stuff.
Dusty Chalk Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Oak aged Yeti earlier Newcastle Werewolf -- meh, wrong kind of hoppy for me.
shellylh Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Turns out Marin high school teachers know how to party. Whoa!

So I made myself a dirty martini with Citadelle Reserve Gin and Dolin Dry. That hits the spot. I am going to try it with the traditional Vesper proportions of 3:1 gin:vodka instead of the reversed proportions. Should be even more Negroni like. That being said I do like vodka, kind of part of the heritage and all. Turns out Marin high school teachers know how to party. Nice!
shellylh Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 I am going to try it with the traditional Vesper proportions of 3:1 gin:vodka instead of the reversed proportions. Should be even more Negroni like. Yep, I think I would like this better. Must be part of the heritage.
Absorbine_Sr Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 FFF Calumet Queen. A kolsch-like offering that goes down very well. 20 IBU, 5% ABV. I could drink a bunch of this.
emelius Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Pretty Things Saint Botolph's Town Rustic Brown Ale...not much to this one except on the malty & complex finish...there, hints of spices & coffee can be found...drinks easy:)... pic from twinbeer.com... luvdunhill Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 No pictures of the North Coast Brewing Co., which was awesome. Now chilling with one of these in Mendocino.
shellylh Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Blackwood's gin + Dolin Dry martini. Yum.
luvdunhill Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Jim, I got a secret ingredient that I'm itching to try in your recipe above. First thing, when I get back I'll reveal it!
