shellylh Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Thistle Flower (similar to a Negroni) 1:1:1 ratio of gin, Bonal, Cynar
mikeymad Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Whole foods out of Pliny (they had 3 cases last week) So: Blind Big (RRB)
shellylh Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 how is that Shelly? Nice pics as always. Not my favorite but pretty good. It's quite a bit sweeter than a Negroni.
Grahame Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I guess you need something to cope with the Sous Vide Wait
shellylh Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Don't have any champagne so Parker's 27 will have to do. Cheers, Jacob!
morphsci Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 A Mountain Man following Al and Shelly This is a great cocktail and the name alone makes it worthy of a toast to one of our robot friends. Cheers Jacob!
Voltron Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Thanks to JP for another fantastic brew. Now having some Ransom gin with a little bitters and a king cube. Cheers Jacob!
Dusty Chalk Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 What do you think? I have a bottle, but haven't opened it yet.
luvdunhill Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I really like that wine, it's one of the regulars I pick up at the store.
Voltron Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Martilla Adapted from a recipe by Bas Verhoeven, Door 74, Amsterdam.1 teaspoon grated lemon zest1 1/2 ounces añejo tequila1 ounce dry vermouth3 teaspoons maraschino liqueur1 lemon twist, as garnish Instructions: Put the lemon zest in a mixing glass and fill it with cubed ice. Add the remaining ingredients and stir for 10 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass and add the garnish. Doubled the recipe so I could start watching The Trip, but used Reposado instead of Anejo. Very interesting. Tequila flavor comes through but a bit sweet and lemony. One of the better uses of Maraschino, I would say. Edited August 4, 2011 by Voltron
shellylh Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Looks good, will try tonight (although I only have blanco and anejo, no reposado).
Voltron Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Looks good, will try tonight (although I only have blanco and anejo, no reposado). The recipe calls for anejo and I think it would be good.
mikeymad Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Welcome to International IPA Day!!! enjoy
Hopstretch Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) There isn't a single fucking glass of IPA to be had in this whole fucking country. Having some Ardbeg to ease the sting. Edited August 4, 2011 by Hopstretch
Voltron Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 What the fuck is wrong with that place?! You had better start a brewery and bring in Duggeh to help.
