raffy Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Radeberger Pilsner. Nice drinkable beer for a hot summer day like today
luvdunhill Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 20th Century Cocktail Gin courtesy of a fellow Head-Caser! Cheers!
morphsci Posted July 21, 2011 Author Report Posted July 21, 2011 Sierra Nevada Black Barleywine Ale Good Stuff!
Augsburger Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 2007 Mollydooker Carnival of Love Shiraz, one of the coolest wine labels around next to Sine Qua Non. I have nine bottles of this so I will be opening up one or two a year to evaluate how it evolves.
shellylh Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 2009 Bodega Tamari Reserva Malbec - I like it.
morphsci Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Grand Cru IMO this is the star of the 30th anniversary beers.
n_maher Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 About to make the lazy man's margarita: 2oz Rose's Lime Juice 2oz Pure Water (to cut the sweetness) 1.5oz tequila 1oz Gran Gala Not as good as real lime juice but still quite good a way less work for a tired old man.
shellylh Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Had a small pre-dinner Manhattan Martini with my new bottle of Blackwood's gin! Thanks Jim, it is ever so tasty! Edited July 22, 2011 by shellylh
shellylh Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 wouldn't that variant be called a "martini" Ooops, yes, that is what I meant. Guess I am a little tired.
Voltron Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Very pretty Mantini Shelly! Hotel Georgia Cocktail 2oz Old Raj gin 1oz Small Hand Foods Orgeat Syrup .5oz lemon juice 10 drops orange flower water 1 egg white orange twist for garnish Dry shake liquid ingredients for 10-15 seconds, then shake with ice for another 10-15 seconds. Double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Add twist and consume. Very tasty even though I overdid the orange flower water without a dropper. Kind of like an Orangecicle. In a good way. Forgot the twist in the first pic. Edited July 22, 2011 by Voltron
luvdunhill Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Nice! If Spec's in Houston doesn't carry the SHF stuff, I'm planning on grabbing some in your neck of the woods. There's a nice article on the proprietress in this month's Imbibe, as well as a few pages on the bourgeoning Austin cocktail scene
shellylh Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 That looks excellent Al! Marc: Don't think Specs has any SHF stuff unfortunately.
Augsburger Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 wouldn't that variant be called a "martini" I vote "Shelltini".
mikeymad Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 a little rye in what is called a whiskey glass - I tend to drink a lot more out of this. -->High West Rendezvous rye 46%
mikeymad Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Some éasy drinking Rye --> Bulleit 95 Rye 45%
shellylh Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Those are some nice big pours Mikey! Next up for me is a Vesper, I mean Sazerac (with a big ass lemon twist). Haven't had one of these in quite a while.
mikeymad Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 The Bulleit went WAY too fast.... --> Michter's 10 Single Barrel (7K-3) -- (Stitzel - Weller Juice for those who know) Big pour - Bottle Killed!
shellylh Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I vote "Shelltini". Don't let Jacob hear them words.
