tyrion
Mike what do you think of that DFH? Nearly bought a 4 pack of it last week but decided to pass. I'm a DFH fan but got away from it for a while as so much other beer has become available down here in the last couple of years. I started watching Brewmasters and I got back into DFH. I like the PSM but it's 12% so jog for everyone. Bell's Hopslam on tap...what can I say?...those who've had it know...I'm first on the waiting list for the new 5L mini-kegs...bottles have already arrived... I like the Hopslam. I was able to get a few 6 packs last year. I guess I need to call my source to see if they are getting any in.
emelius
lemme know if you have any trouble...can easily ship...going rate here is $17.99/sixer...hoping that the 5Ls won't be $50, but i wouldn't be surprised...quite frankly, i'm more excited about the return of Tr

Voltron
Stagg rules. Here is what my last Anvil night is looking like:
Voltron
99th Anvil List cocktail: Tom & Jerry using the Jerry Thomas recipe recited by Jim previously, although with a single egg, 2 oz of Zacapa and .75 oz of Maison Surrenne. Not bad, and not all that different from some of the other warm nog-like drinks. I need a pro to make one of these and see what it is really supposed to taste like. And 100 of 100 on the Anvil List: The Zombie or as the Stork Club Bar Book calls it, The Zombian Using Regan's Joy of Mixology recipe with an addition of passion fruit syrup because I bought it not remembering which recipe I was going to use: 2 oz anejo rum (Zacapa) 1 oz light rum (Appleton) 1 oz dark rum (Black Seal) 1/2 oz fresh lime juice 3/4 oz pineapple juice [1/4 oz passion fruit syrup] 1/4 oz apricot brandy (R&W) 1/4 oz 151-proof rum (Bacardi 151) Angostura bitters to taste (2 dashes) Shake and strain into a tall glass 3/4 full of cracked ice and garnish with mint sprig and fruit and a straw. Pretty tasty but I put in way too much lime -- read half ounce as juice of half lime -- and the addition of the passion fruit might be throwing it off a bit. Still tasty and potent! Here is the last drink of the list, up close and personal fin

Glad you got that over with, Al (picture Mike, JP, and me applauding). Care to rejoin the purists with just spirits and strong beer again?

Dusty Chalk
I had Unibroue's Terrible last night -- I think they're underselling themselves, because it's actually not bad. Unless they were going for hoppy, because it was malty malty malty. Yes, I tasted a little bit of hoppy, but did I mention malty? Because it completely overpowered the hoppy, and not in a "complex" way.Weyerbacher Tiny An imperial stout with the mouthfeel and drinkability of a soda? Wut? Dude, you need to start taking everything I like, and use it as "opposite" advice -- Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, beers, pussy/dick -- we just don't agree on anything. manaox2
Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye. I really like it. Reminds me of an affordable Sink the Bismark, sweet, a little salty, but most of all hoppy without a lot of bitterness.
tyrion
I have a few Hop Rod Ryes on hand. Unfortunately, I have to order from your part of the world Scott but at least I can and the cost isn't too bad. DFH 60 followed by a Weyerbacher Fifteen. I love the smokey goodness.
