luvdunhill Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Grown up milkshake, yay! It's very tasty. The two cocoa Drillauds products are also exceptionally good, if anyone is looking for recommendations.
grawk Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 grown up milkshake = ice cream, milk, and bourbon
luvdunhill Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 grown up milkshake = ice cream, milk, and bourbon Despite the ingredients, Al's description is right on. Another one of those transforming cocktails.
Voltron Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 I will try one of those shakes but not tonight. Now in the Williamsburg 'hood. Same recipe but with Pappy 15. Dropping down to 107 proof tames this one quite a bit. Moar approachable.

909 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 sharing a bottle of Dieu Du Ciel Solstice D'hiver with my wife.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Y+B Malbec 2009 -- also pretty good. I'm going to start rating wines by how cold I need to drink them in order to enjoy them. This one is about 65 Fahrenheit. The Hogue Gewurtztraminer that I had earlier ("...in the year", not "...in the evening") was at least 72, if not higher.
tyrion Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Terrapin Moo-Hoo Milk Stout Keep the faith raffy, just say no to cocktails.
raffy Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Keep the faith raffy, just say no to cocktails. Well......I did make a Manhattan a few times last week but I promise it's only to chip into my Eagle Rare as I really not a big fan of it neat. Seems like I'm not the only one who's not a big fan either - just a little too light tasting and has this scotchy taste to it that I'm not feeling. Hope I haven't shamed Team FL too much
tyrion Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 That's fine, as long as it's lousy whiskey, it might as well get used.

Voltron Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 my favorite ice cream ever is a butter pecan made with maker's mark. so good. Humphry Slocombe in SF makes Secret Breakfast ice cream with bourbon and corn flakes. Awesome stuff.

Crap, I almost grabbed that but didn't due to the price diff. Looking back, I wish I just shelled out the extra $. Having a Van Winkle Rye right now.....the VW 20yr is still my favorite but this rye is rather excellent too Edited April 13, 2011 by raffy
The Monkey Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 this year's 17yo Eagle Rare in the antique collection is quite good. Yes, yes it is.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Weggy Cebby (Ceylon Breakfast) & My Organic Market Assam == Ceylon Breakfast/Assam bastardization == Sebastian The Ceylon Breakfast is a tad to brisk for a daily drinker, but I like it every once in a while; the Assam is just a twee too...well, twee. So I thought blending them would make the best of both worlds, but it's like they don't blend. Ah well, still drinkable, at least.
Aura Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Keep the faith raffy, just say no to cocktails. I'm a little late, but amen Mike.
shellylh Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 my favorite ice cream ever is a butter pecan made with maker's mark. so good. That does sound good.
Voltron Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 I'm a little late, but amen Mike. What the fuck do you know about cocktails, college boy? Red Bull and shit vodka from a plastic 1.75 liter is NOT a cocktail.
Voltron Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 so does that cornflake breakfast stuff Al mentioned! Plus, they have that ice cream at the beer bar at AT&T Park. Good beer and bourbon corn flake ice cream. Mmmm.
