mikeymad Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Some Beer with Ribeye (yep another one).. Some Canadian... Unibroue - Eau BĂ©nite
grawk Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 How's the silk porter? I'm having more of their doris double oatmeal raisin imperial stout right now
mikeymad Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Didn't like the first one that much - so moving on to the second.. like it much better (damned - trying not to read too much into it) Unibroue - Maudite
shellylh Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Bonal and Rye face-off! I think I agree with Jim that the subtlety of the Mandarine Napoleon is slightly nicer in the end that the sweetness of Shrubb. They are both awesome though.
naamanf Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 How's the silk porter? I'm having more of their doris double oatmeal raisin imperial stout right now It's just okay. I think their stouts and barley wines are the winners of the bunch.
Voltron Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Joining the Bonal & Rye party, Napoleon style!
emelius Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 friend of mine has a B.O.R.I.S. Royale...hopin' to be 'round when he opens it:)... I found another Dark Intrigue, so...that...
morphsci Posted January 3, 2012 Author Report Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Bonal and Rye: Never a bad choice. Nice x2 or 3 Decided on something lighter so went with an Eva Peron Cocktail 3/4 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liquer 3/4 oz Carpano Antica 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice 1/4 oz Fernet Branca Shake with ice then strain over ice in a Collins glass. Top with Ginger Beer and a lime wedge. Nice! Don't cry for me or Eva. Edited January 3, 2012 by morphsci
Voltron Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Speaking of x2, I just made another B&R on the rocks. Maybe it is a typo or your hatred of Fernet, Jim, but my recipe said equal parts across the board. I actually think it is one of the nicer Fernet recipes, and coincidentally I made one for Claire tonight.
Augsburger Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Domaine des Croix Beaune Les CentsVignes Premier Cru. Felt like a Burgundy and these 100 year old vines are win.
morphsci Posted January 3, 2012 Author Report Posted January 3, 2012 Hmmm, that was the recipe on the Domaine de Canton web site. So I went back for seconds but bumped everything up to 1oz and it is better. Thanks Al.
shellylh Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Note to self: buy some Domaine de Canton (need a way to use up the FB). Ooh, just saw that they have a 375ml bottle of DC at my place. They should sell 375ml bottles of everything! Edited January 3, 2012 by shellylh
Voltron Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Whiskey Skin Marc is quite parallel. Jim's whiskey skin opened part 2 of this thread on January 2, 2011. Nicely done.

mikeymad Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 so does that mean we close it out and start a 2012 edition?
