Bonal and Rye face-off! I think I agree with Jim that the subtlety of the Mandarine Napoleon is slightly nicer in the end that the sweetness of Shrubb. They are both awesome though.

How's the silk porter? I'm having more of their doris double oatmeal raisin imperial stout right now

It's just okay. I think their stouts and barley wines are the winners of the bunch.

Bonal and Rye: Never a bad choice. Nice x2 or 3

Decided on something lighter so went with an Eva Peron Cocktail

3/4 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liquer

3/4 oz Carpano Antica

3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1/4 oz Fernet Branca

Shake with ice then strain over ice in a Collins glass. Top with Ginger Beer and a lime wedge.

Speaking of x2, I just made another B&R on the rocks. Maybe it is a typo or your hatred of Fernet, Jim, but my recipe said equal parts across the board. I actually think it is one of the nicer Fernet recipes, and coincidentally I made one for Claire tonight. :)

Hmmm, that was the recipe on the Domaine de Canton web site. So I went back for seconds but bumped everything up to 1oz and it is better. Thanks Al.

Note to self: buy some Domaine de Canton (need a way to use up the FB). Ooh, just saw that they have a 375ml bottle of DC at my place. smile.png They should sell 375ml bottles of everything!
