emelius Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Sam Adams Tasman Red... not great, but not bad either...no complaints for a $7 bomber (that's cheap for Indy)... my wish is that someone in this thread'll name their child Peat...
mikeymad Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Okay need a nice Sherry Monster for a nightcap --> Macallan 18yo SMWS (24.104) (1st fill) 56.9% (70cl) from my friend Willie I think it will do nicely... Edited November 18, 2011 by mikeymad
Voltron Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Just got home from work after a long day including a stint from 8:30a to 5:30p in which I never got up from my desk working on a brief to eat or pee or anything else. Kind of didn't notice time flying by except at intervals. Since breakfast, I had only a small bag of Pop Chips, so I am enjoying some FFF goodness along with chicken terriyaki and vegetable stir fry. Cheers Mikey, you seem to be going strong still!
mikeymad Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Cheers Al - you look happy to be home and having a beverage..
swt61 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Confused now. Younguns! Thanks Jim. Al, classic, I'd forgotten that one.
Voltron Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Probably forgot because you're all too happy to answer that question. :/
tyrion Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 It's always good to see a happy Al. I'm guessing it's because he is getting a very special guest.

shellylh Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Is this real? Alcohol-Free Whisky Debuts - http://ow.ly/1AA08M Bet it tastes like crap.
manaox2 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Terrapin wake-n-bake. I remember that I like this a lot better with some age.
raffy Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Clown Shoes Lubrication Black Ale Funny thing is it really has a slick feel to it
Voltron Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Stopped in at City Beer on the way to get my hairs cut. Picked up some Pliny bottles for the Great RRBC vs. FFF IPA Throwdown, and decided to have a little Black Xantus 2010 on tap. Nice.
Augsburger Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Dinny, you like? Are you on their mail list too? And lastly, have you tried their Illustration? Enough questions for now, go back to drinking.
The Monkey Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Greg, I like. This is the first I've had of it. Maybe a bit young, maybe needs another hour or so to open up. Tannins are there, but approachable (to paraphrase a review). Good vino. I have not had the Illustration. Not sure how my dad got his hands on this. He has some nice California Cab right now, which is good because he prefers Bordeaux.
Augsburger Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 As I recall the Illustration is more Bordeauxishlike for a Cali Merlot, so Illustration may be the Cali Merlot gateway wine for Bordeauxphiles. I prefer Bodeaux but the California Cabs deliver to my office.
cetoole Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) Just opened a 2006 Chateau des Annereaux Lalande-de-Pomerol. Gonna let it breath while I head to a place I know has one of my favorite beverages on a very steep sale... Younguns! Thanks Jim. Al, classic, I'd forgotten that one. Its ok Steve, I didn't know who that Opie guy you likened me to the other day was either. Edited November 19, 2011 by cetoole
Voltron Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Barnum Was Right Cocktail 2oz gin 1oz apricot brandy .5oz lemon juice 2 drops angostura bitters Shake and strain and garnish with lemon zest. Not a sucker for this one.
Voltron Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Its ok Steve, I didn't know who that Opie guy you likened me to the other day was either. Perma-ban from Mayberry.
cetoole Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Perma-ban from Mayberry. Do I get any points for googling the name, then watching the first episode on Netflix?
Fitz Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Its ok Steve, I didn't know who that Opie guy you likened me to the other day was either. Wat. Perma-ban from Mayberry. Well he acts like Otis anyways, just using your place to sleep in half the day.
