Mary found this while shopping for furniture. blink.png 2008 Pine Ridge Cabernet, a nice balanced blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Petite Verdot,Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Very approachable after giving it 1-1.5 hours of breathing, what Justin used to be. Would go real well with Shelly, Mike or Al's BBQ. I suspect since the Cabernet grapes in this blend are from Napa, and this winery's more refined blends are from Stags Leap, some of the Cab grapes in this line are sourced from Stags Leap, sure seems that way. So Jeff might like to give this a try since he is rumored to like Stags Leap grape juice.

Thanks Greg, I'll pick up a bottle. There are even a few grapes from the city of my Alma Mater.

Norton Privada '08, accompanied by S-V duck breast (2 hours at 135 degrees), seared with hot peppers from Pot Belly Sandwich, and a side of grilled asparagus. Yum.

What would be a reasonable price for the Parker's Barrel finished? My connection has Parker's but his markup seems to be a bit much.

I have seen it for as low as $85 and as high as $120.

Holy shit! If I bought it here I would have to pay a 100% convenience fee, may need to shop the nets or do some driving this time. Thank you for the info.

3/2 oz Blanton's bourbon

1/4 oz Cocchi di Torino sweet vermouth

1/4 oz Punt e Mes

1 dash cherry bitters

1 dash Fee Bros Whiskey Barrel Aged bitters

2 Griottines cherries

This does not suck.

Close, Cal Poly SLO.

That's what I meant I just can't spell, and I haven't even started drinking yet. A great school and close to Paso Robles wine country no less.

I like it that Colin does wine friendly cooking pics.

Rendezvous rye rocks -- Sorry Chris, for your family's loss.

I like the Rendezvous rye A LOT. But I felt that it was making a rather sweet Manhattan, so I had an Old Potrero Manhattan (thanks Dan!) earlier. That was tasty.

Split a bottle of sauvignon blanc with the wife over lunch at one of the local wine estates. She and the kids have now taken off to a birthday party so I'm sitting at my desk drinking indifferent beer and listening to Mark Knopfler.
