Sorry for my absence of late Al, been doing fieldwork during the day so this old man is very tired in the evenings.

1/2 oz Chambord or crème de cassis

  1 oz Lillet Blanc

  2 dashes orange bitters

a lemon twist (apply as garnish before serving).

Malbec? I thought Cocina was the blend? Oh well, maybe that's just currently, back in '08 (all, the good old days), they had something called Cocina Malbec.

Do tell, I wouldn't mind a second opinion. Also, is that where you got it? It's looking like I'm going to have to order it online, I've only found the blend and the Bonarda in stores.

According to this article, it is new for 2008.

La Posta Starts New Year With New Wines

I bought the bottle at a local Texas grocery store (Central Market) but I noticed that they have it at our local spirits/wine/beer warehouse "Specs" so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I thought is was really quite good - better than the Bonarda but that may just be my preference. I haven't tried the "Pizzella" or "Paulucci" Malbecs yet though, so I cannot really compare it to those.

Here is the back of the bottle for more information.

I had some grapefruit so I decided to make something with that.

3/4 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

Cheers hoboken Bitches! Moar Port for me right now, contemplating some Merlot.

Shelly's got me thinkin' so tomorow after I attend a school event for my son I think I will go Malbec hunting and pick up some Champagne and Muga Rioja while I am at it. Don't want to run out of wine any time soon.

Cheers all, but sadly the only thing I could find at my folks house was a can of Miller Lite. :(

Sorry to hear that Al....at least it's triple-hops brewed and better than Piss/Bud Light!

A belated cheers to Shelly, Hoboken bitches, Al (sorry to hear about your circumstances), et al. I had a Widdershins last night -- hoppy barleywine -- Left Hand, so was very very good. I should chill a bottle of TNT to compare, but I forgot.

Hendricks martini mixed by the missus.

I went the Boodles martini route. Two on an empty stomach are sitting very well right now. Especially since I found out my work life, starting tomorrow, are going to be a frantic scramble. Yay.

Double fisting in your undies is quite a choice round two!

Just wait for round three! :D

Back to Anvil for me.

Stinger

9/4 oz Maison Surrenne cognac

3/4 oz bright green Marie Brizzard Creme de Menthe

Pretty good for a super minty green drink. I would probably do a 4:1 instead of 3:1 ratio and wouldn't bother wasting Maison Surrenne on this next time though.
