luvdunhill
I definitely like the bitter element, but in its place. I wonder about half PeM and half Carpano would be like? Hm

luvdunhill
Aperol and Sparking Water This is yummy, I like the muted taste compared to Campari. Very nice! Any favorites?
morphsci
Aperol and Sparking Water This is yummy, I like the muted taste compared to Campari. Very nice! Any favorites? I thought this was pretty good Nice cocktail creativity Dan and Mike! Still trying to finish off some near empty bottles so I needed a gin drink and went with the Petruchio Cocktail   1 oz gin (1 1/2 oz Northshore #6)   1 oz Aperol (1 1/2 oz)   ½ oz lemon juice (3/4 oz)   1 dash of simple syrup   2 dashes Fee’s orange bitters   1 egg white Place all ingredients in a tin and frappe. Add ice and shake until your arms hurt. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

luvdunhill
Decided to do a quick comparison Jim. To me, Aperol is much more complex than Campari. I'm really liking it. I had a bit of left over white white from dinner that I mixed it with and is nice. Really loving it

luvdunhill
Nah, I'm an engineer. I use measuring devices. Lemon juice is important balancing factor. This one is solid fellow cocktailians. The challenge awaits!
Augsburger
Sauvignon is gone. Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot. Initial whiff was that funky bread dough aroma but after an hour it has opened up real nice, no alcohol bite with a nice Pinot fruit layer. This has become my standard "working" drink (when I want something that has a nice flavor but isn't too strong). Okay, cocktail challenge! Paper Plane Equal parts Bourbon, Aperol, Amaro and Lemon Juice That looks good. Me: Had a couple of margaritas with dinner. They were pretty good. Also, I guess I haven't been drinking very much lately because I have quite a buzz.
