Dusty Chalk Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Sebastian -- still working on the ratio.
The Monkey Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Parker's Heritage 10 yo. All gone now. Damn cleaning lady again. Listening to the new Feelies album. Loving it.
The Monkey Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I've seen out of the corner of my eye the Malbec discussions. For you malbec fans, may I recommend Bodegas El Nido Clio (esp. 2002, 2003).
shellylh Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I like Malbec but am drinking water instead.
luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 ATTENTION! 2 oz gin ¼ oz absinthe ¼ oz dry vermouth ¼ oz violette 2 dashes Regan’s orange bitters stir with ice strain into an iced cocktail glass garnish with a lemon twist
luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Thats a nice one. I considered using Ransom, and I'm not sure what it would have been like, but I'm tempted. Personally, I'm glad I didn't use a dry gin.

luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Cheers Al! Did what I could do for the Monk's Revenge!
morphsci Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 Right with you Marc. Another Monk's Revenge. Seemed apropos as I have been "chanting" quite a bit while grading my ecology exams.
Voltron Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Cheers and chants back at you, Marc and Jim! I meant to dedicate that one to Marc because I immediately thought of you due to your love of Benedictine. Did you like your version? First up tonight in Mayberry: Hotel Nacionale Speciale Adapted from the Hotel Nacionale, Havana, Cuba 1½ oz rum (white or aged) ¾ oz fresh lime juice ¾ oz Pineapple Gum Syrup ½ oz apricot brandy Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime twist. Edited April 15, 2011 by Voltron
luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Damn Al, that one is nice. I really like Benedictine though, so perhaps that is why it stuck a chord. Where is everyone else? More cocktails!

luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Hotel Nacionale Special This. The Kuchan is top notch stuff. Perhaps Jim can try this with the Bluemen (sp?) eau-de-vie .. I want to get a white agricole. I saw the St. James in town recently, probably will grab it a some point, it's the only agricole I've seen here. The St. Clement XO is on the wish list as well, the VSOP makes a heck of a rum old fashioned..
luvdunhill Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Meh, I cannot get it so it's dead to me.
mikeymad Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 More Old Signatory Bottles: --> Tamnavulin 1978/24yo 55.1% Signatory
morphsci Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 Playing follow-the-leader with Al and Marc, Hotel Nacionale Special Pretty good if you like the somewhat earthy taste of the Depaz.
