tyrion Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I'm not always a fan of chocolate beers, but the Mokah is awesome. Cheers Mike! I had some ST Chokolat Friday night at Brother Tuckers Friday night. I didn't think I would like it but it was very good. Glad to hear your mom is coming home Al.

shellylh Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Ok, fine, I will have a margarita then. Margarita 3/2 oz Casa Noble Crystal tequila 1/2 oz Grand Marnier 3/4 oz lime juice 1 tsp Agave Syrup
shellylh Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Having some more Kumbe cab with my steak dinner. I am even less impressed with it the second night. No more of this wine.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 I just want to hop on the "Southern Tier Mokah is awesome" train. Choo-choo! Alas, I don't have any refrigerating right now. I think tonight's a Sleepytime night.
luvdunhill Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Opera Cocktail (modified) 2 oz Tom 1/2 oz Dolin Rouge 1/4 oz Luxardo maraschino liqueur 1 dash Regan's orange bitters. Stir. I really, really like this one.
morphsci Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 So the Plymouth gin worked very well in the Palm Beach and Park Avenue last night. The same cannot be said for the Seventh Heaven. Plymouth is much too smooth and mild and so the drink was overwhelmed by the 1/2 oz of maraschino liquor. My suggestion is to either cut back to 1/4 oz maraschino if you are using Plymouth or other less assertive gin or just use a ballsy gin like Junipero. Anyway, tonight I am revisiting the Twentieth Century Cocktail 1 1/2 oz Bluecoat Gin 3/4 oz Cocchi Americano 1/2 oz Mary Brizard Creme de Cocoa (The recipe calls for light but all I have is dark) 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice Shake and double strain into a cocktail glass. Express a lemon peel and drop in.
emelius Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Gnomegang...best blonde I've had in 'while:)...9.5ABV to boot...

morphsci Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 I think the Junipero would definitely make it a fairer fight. Decided to see how good the Blackwoods really is by mixing up a Vesper 3 oz Blackwoods Gin 1 oz Glacier Vodka 3/4 oz Cocchi Americano Stir briskly and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a nice lemon twist. Yep, Blackwoods is good.
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Hey Jim, where did you get the Blackwoods?
morphsci Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 I got it at Friar Tuck's in Champaign (Savoy).
