shellylh Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 *Anvil* Before dinner - a very small Opera cocktail I didn't think that I would like this one but it was surprisingly good. 2/3 oz Blue Coat gin 1/6 oz Luxardo Maraschino 1/6 oz Dubonnet Squeeze a orange peel on top (added after picture was taken)
luvdunhill Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Gin Smash 4 oz Genever 4 mint leaves 1 tsp powdered sugar 2 tsp water Muddle sugar, water an mint. Add crushed ice. Add gin. Night night!
shellylh Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) *Anvil* Next up: Dulchin My first Pisco drink. Kinda reminds me a bit of a margarita except sweeter and not as good. [i think I need to start scaling back on the Apricot brandy/liqueur in drinks.] Despite all its shortcomings, it disappeared very quickly. 2 oz Cesar Pisco 1 oz R&W Apricot Liqueur 1 oz Lime Juice 2 tsp Grand Marnier 1 tsp Grenadine Cheers to Al! Happy Birthday cocktail buddy! Edited March 21, 2011 by shellylh
luvdunhill Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Yeah, a lot of the drinks work better with a eau-de-vie. Thats what I found for this particular drink at least. I'd recommend the Kuchan stuff or Blume Marillen
shellylh Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Toasted Head Cabernet - pretty good for the low price
grawk Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 heh, I had the maipe in a bottle the other day, it wasn't good
