naamanf Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Sam Adams Imperial Series Wee Heavy... What did you think? I normally like most SA beers but this one seems just meh. Full Hand Twin Sisters Double IPA. I actually like this one. Edited March 5, 2011 by naamanf
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Old Raj Gin & Fever Tree Tonic with a dash of grenadine Nice. Having a Belhaven Wee Heavy while waiting to see Jimmy Webb.

Dusty Chalk Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Chick Fil-A is awesome, and I keep forgetting to order that banana pudding milkshake.

Augsburger Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Frank Sinatra Come Fly With Me Cabernet Sauvignon. Napa Valley fruit bomb, in a good way.
luvdunhill Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Blood and Sand 0.75 oz scotch 0.75 oz Itailan vermouth 0.75 oz Heering 0.75 oz orange juice, fresh Shake over ice and double strain. This is my second time around to this one, and Dolin Rouge works better than Carpano Antica. It's much more balanced now.
jinp6301 Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 I've never been to a Chick-fil-A. theres one inside NYU

luvdunhill Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Chrysanthemum Cocktail (modified) 3 dashes Absinthe (1 tsp) 1/3 Benedictine (1 oz) 2/3 French Vermouth (2 oz. Cocchi Americano) Cut a long orange peel directly over a cocktail glass to ensure oil is retained. Stir ingredients with ice. Strain and garnish with said orange peel. Yes, artistic license, but no surprise it's very yummy, IMHO! Edited March 6, 2011 by luvdunhill
manaox2 Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Harpoon cider. Goes well with a cigar. Only thing I have against chik-fil-la is that they are not open on sundays and are openly against homosexuality.
morphsci Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 Creole Cocktail 1 1/2 oz Sazerac Rye 1 1/2 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth 1 tsp Benedictine 1 tsp Amer Boudreau Stir, strain and garnish with lemon twist
Dusty Chalk Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Choco Bock. Goddamn, this is good. They snuck this year's into one of their seasonal boxes. 2 out of 12 of the bottles, but not bombers, alas. Still, worth the price of admission alone. I'd rank it right up there with Life & Limb. Ya, rly.
Voltron Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Two Carthusian Cocktails ala B&B 2 oz Rendevous Rye 0.75 oz Punt e Mes 0.5 oz Green Chartreuse 2 dashes Fees orange bitters Stir until cold and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a lemon zest twist. The second one has the the amounts for the Punt e Mes and Chartreuse swapped. Not nearly as good as the one at B&B because it is missing one crucial ingredient, the most excellent company. Still it is an awesome cocktail and I prefer the one that leans toward the Punt e Mes. Two Carthusians for my sister and me, using Jim's modified recipe with .75oz each of Chartreuse and Punt y Mes.
blessingx Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Mexican-style, real sugar, bottled merchandise 7x.
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 At the Floyds after the very good Webb show. Currently having a Rabid Rabbit. And for those who have made the pilgrimage, Topless Wytch is next.
Voltron Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Savory cocktail ideas needed. The Carthusian was too sweet for my sister apparently. Classic Martini is what she is thinking but I need to broaden her horizons. Give.
morphsci Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Vesper! Followed by a Corpse Reviver. Now having a Bushwick 2 oz Sazerac Rye 3/4 oz Carpano Antica 1 1/2 tsp Amer Boudreau 1 1/2 tsp Luxardo Maraschino Stir, strain and serve sans any garnish Edited March 6, 2011 by morphsci
Voltron Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 True. That was in the back of my mind, but wouldn't come to the front. Thanks, that will be next. More ideas welcome.
