aardvark baguette Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 "Luxman has released the DA-200 USB DAC by combining the P-1u headphone amp and the D-05". link Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 155400 JPY (~$1900). I don't know how Luxman prices their products out of Japan, though. Quote
aardvark baguette Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 The 590 a II that I want is ~ $6300 on Audiocubes2, but $9,500 in the states. Quote
luvdunhill Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Well, that's one way to prevent people importing and switching the voltage... Quote
aardvark baguette Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 you're supposed to be asterisks around it so that we know it's what your doing and not a non sequitur. don't you know how to internet? *cries* cries /cries Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Also, that whole "combining the P-1u headphone amp and the D-05 (DAC section)" is not entirely accurate. The DAC and output section is supposedly pretty close to that of D-05, but the headphone amp section is an opamp-based one, unlike that of P-1u. Looking at the Japanese site, it looks more like a 2-ch USB DAC that they tacked on a headphone amp/out. Edited January 4, 2011 by Salt Peanuts Quote
Voltron Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Not nearly. It is hot looking and would have been a bitchin' combo if not for the opamps and tacking on parts. Quote
