Voltron Posted July 22, 2020 Report Posted July 22, 2020 Ribeye, blistered shisito peppers, sugar snap peas, and garlic bread. Satisfying. 11 Quote

Pizza looks good Al (so did the punjabi beans). What did you do for the crust? Any particular recipe? I know this was back in May... 1 Quote
Voltron Posted July 24, 2020 Report Posted July 24, 2020 It's my friend's pizza crust recipe so I will have to find it again. It's very easy and turns to great. I'll let you know when I get the recipe, Chris. 4 Quote
n_maher Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 My parents dropped off fresh peaches, so cobbler it was. Did a horrible job sprinkling cinnamon, didn't matter. It was great. 6 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Thanks, now I'm going to have that Presidents of the United States of America song stuck in my head. 1 Quote
Augsburger Posted September 6, 2020 Report Posted September 6, 2020 I will only like your post if I know what brand knife you are using. 1 Quote
Voltron Posted September 22, 2020 Report Posted September 22, 2020 Another reverse seared Ribeye, this time with homemade creamed spinach. Pulled out the steak at 110 degrees and did a quick sear. Plus I feel like I'm at a steakhouse with the bucket of creamed spinach I made. Fantastic. 5 1 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted September 22, 2020 Report Posted September 22, 2020 It’s very colourful, like an ad for film. Pretty. Quote
swt61 Posted October 14, 2020 Report Posted October 14, 2020 Just made crepes for lunch. The batter was a little too thick. The Irish cream liqueur sits inches away, so I thought hmmm. Best crepes ever! Is this stuff considered a gateway drug? 1 3 Quote
swt61 Posted October 14, 2020 Report Posted October 14, 2020 I am somewhat concerned about the desire to move up to Kahlua and maybe even Cream De Menthe. 1 Quote
n_maher Posted October 14, 2020 Report Posted October 14, 2020 I do not think that Creme de anything represents a move up. 1 5 Quote
swt61 Posted October 15, 2020 Report Posted October 15, 2020 I think of myself as a butch dude, but when it comes to booze I admit to being a nelly queen. 2 Quote
Voltron Posted October 15, 2020 Report Posted October 15, 2020 What if you had Irish cream tea and crepes at the same time?! All heck might break loose! I have not been sleeping normally and keep waking up at 3-5am. Today I gave up at 6:30am and went to the local bakery/farm/pumpkin patch for pastry and a few other items. I had a sweet cream cheese croissant about 7:30am while watching the sunrise on a bay of Lake Michigan. I also bought a plain croissant so I made second break later in the morning with cheesy eggs and bacon in what Burger King called a croissanwich. I could easily live up here about 8 months of the year... 10 Quote
swt61 Posted October 15, 2020 Report Posted October 15, 2020 I love that place! The best pastries ever! And talk about atmosphere! 1 Quote

swt61 Posted October 23, 2020 Report Posted October 23, 2020 Not actually cooking, but making tuna salad. I like my tuna salad loaded. Red Bell Pepper, Onion, Heirloom Tomatoes, Pickles, but not just any pickles will do, Kalamata Olives, Crumbled Bacon, Albacore Tuna and Ciabatta Buns. When I'm ready to serve I slice some Avocado, then add some French Fried Onions. Yes, I'll be cleaning my countertops! 6 1 Quote
robm321 Posted October 23, 2020 Report Posted October 23, 2020 (edited) Now that's a tuna salad! Edited October 24, 2020 by robm321 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted October 23, 2020 Report Posted October 23, 2020 Drooling. What is special about those pickles? I have access to some really good pickles, I want to try your recipe. Although I’d probably add celery, carrots, and black pepper. Quote
swt61 Posted October 24, 2020 Report Posted October 24, 2020 They're by far the best tasting store bought pickles I've ever had, by a very wide margin. Quote
