Dreadhead Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Grilled chicken marinated in BBQ sauce overnight. First grilling of 2017. So tasty 3 Quote
Polycentric Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Wow those look amazing, unfortunately still a little too cold to grill outside here. Quote
tyrion Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Orange beef (ribeye) and bok choy with oyster sauce. Last minute pic before consumption. That looks good. I need to start trying recipes beyond my usual. My problem is Gail is such a picky eater. Smoking short ribs. Two hours in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 10 Quote
Voltron Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Those ribs are going to be tasty, I'll bet. I think Gail would like those two dishes because they are not particularly challenging. I made the beef with less spice because Alden doesn't do spicy foods, and it was still tasty and we all liked it. 3 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Garlic/pepper/orange beef -- fucking perfect, tender, yet well done. Didn't marinate for one second, just threw a little bit of orange juice into my usual hoisin garlic/pepper/more garlic/touch of fish sauce concoction. Quote
grawk Posted March 11, 2017 Report Posted March 11, 2017 Red beans and rice using my new instant pot. Threw a little smoked paprika in it to replace the flavor bacon and ham hocks would provide. Turned out pretty good, and was super quick compared to normal beans and rice. 6 Quote
Voltron Posted March 12, 2017 Report Posted March 12, 2017 Poached eggs, grilled asparagus, kale and grilled bread. 9 Quote
swt61 Posted March 12, 2017 Report Posted March 12, 2017 I'm guessing Alden didn't partake in that? Quote
grawk Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 Instant pot pork shoulder. Wow. 90 minutes to fantastic pork. 4 Quote
grawk Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 It's so good... I kept it simple this time. 3 lb boston butt 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp minced garlic Rubbed it in "Butt Rub" BBQ seasoning, plus smoked paprika, and 3 chopped vietnamese peppers 90 minutes under pressure. 1 Quote
n_maher Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 Nice, Dan. My butt took around 6hrs to cook yesterday. Quote
grawk Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 I'm definitely going to give carnitas a shot this way. Next will be lamb vindaloo. 1 Quote
swt61 Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 There's a Sir-Mix-A-Lot song in there somewhere. Quote
grawk Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 except mine was a very little butt, so maybe an erasure song. 2 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 bison/okra/stroganoff-y thing -- didn't have mushrooms, so added cream of mushroom, and reduced it more, added extra black pepper and garlic, came out delicious, and now I have enough for a week. Quote

Have you ever had tempura okra, Steve? Or the traditional blackened? Okra is also delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried. Of course, an acorn would be delicious stuffed with cheese and battered and deep-fried. 1 Quote
swt61 Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 I've heard it can be good, but the only way I've had it is slimey. Not that I'm against everything that's slimey, but Okra for sure. Quote
