Zanth Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 I'm in need of a new tone arm cable. I am presently using the stock Van den hul cable on my SME V arm. It's copper but is not as resolving nor as rich as I would prefer. I was thining Cardas Golden Reference or Cross, but they are pretty pricey, as is the more revealing but more linear Hovland and Graham 2.2. Any suggestions?
Grand Enigma Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 i recommend you ordering the Cardas din cable from TakeFive and sending me that along with some gold cables to hack

PsychoZX Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 zu sells their xaus phono cable on ebay. I wonder how they are. The price is certainly right.

hirsch Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 Another option might be something like the Cardas phono box. This converts a DIN connector to a pair of RCA jacks. After that, you can use any interconnect that you want, rather than a dedicated phono interconnect. (However, I can't remember if the SME arms use the same DIN as other tone arms).
Yikes Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Obviously Siltechs Compass Lake Phono Cable. The worlds best phono cable, and a steal at $10,200 for a 1 meter set.

I can't believe people are willing to spend that much on some wire... I guess there's a sucker born everyone minute.
