Mr.Sneis Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Does anyone here know/remember the specs on the Moth EC2a3? Trying to determine the headphone and speaker output impedance.
n_maher Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Moth Audio si2a3 Technical Specifications That might be a good start, I don't know how similar the "Si" and regular version were though. Also, Craig is usually good about responding to emails so you might just try that avenue.
Mr.Sneis Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Yeah I had a gander at the si2a3 for reference, truth be told I have a buyer interested in the amp but he wants the specs and to know if it's a good match with lcd-2 which of course I wouldn't know. He had contacted Craig but got a misdirected response lol.
jp11801 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) While I'm pissed that I didn't get the amp given the amps selling price to 2 members here, The LCD-2 should be a good match from an impedance point of view as the 2a3 drove the L3000 well and they are very similar. Good Luck with your sale and let's hope the Fi 2a3 is a good match for Zu Soul Superflys Edited November 19, 2010 by jp11801
Mr.Sneis Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Thanks jp! Probably not as pissed as I am about how much I spent on the amp a few months ago It's still available though and I am dropping the price as I get more desparate...
falkon Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 JP, tbh, the ec2a3 isn't anything special in terms of speaker amplification. Other 2a3's will do the same job. You didn't lose out on much.
recstar24 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Yup, just a nice implementation of your standard SET 2a3. As for specs, Craig would be the one, if he cares to divulge. Should be plenty fine for the LCD-2. I would recommend getting underneath the amp and changing the output taps to 16 ohms for a bit more power transfer, but doubt you would hear a sonic difference.
