Pars Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Audiolab, design by John Westlake. I'd like to hear these. Sabre32 DACs, really reasonable price. The Monkey Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 That looks pretty cool. I like DACs. I also like the filter options.
Currawong Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 I like the Q version with analogue inputs and a pre-amp.
Asr Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 The CD player looks awesome and the price is even better! I see no mention of availability in the USA though...?
Maxvla Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Really going to be interested later on in this CD/DAC. Am I wrong in thinking I don't need the Q version? Seems like it only adds preamp functionality. Another thing interesting about it is the 2 channel amp they have is 60W which is just about perfect for use with the Hifiman HE-6 on speaker taps. If it sounds great it would be a nice matching combo. Anyone know the price on the 8200A amp?
Maxvla Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Seeing a German site with a price of 900 Euros or $1250 USD. The non Q would be about $1100 so a combo of $2350 for transport, source, and amp. Add the HE-6 for a $3350 complete system (plus cables, if you desire nice ones). Not bad.
Maxvla Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Here are some internals of the 8200CD (non Q) CDQ below:
