deepak Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I agree this show rocks. Making it even more painful that there are only 4 more episodes this season :'(
MoonShine Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Watching ep2 tonight. On Demand w/ no commercials rawqs.
Fing Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I spent a few evenings reading all 78 issues of the comic and was really impressed. The author really doesn't pull any punches. He also gave an interview about the show and stated that it will have enough surprises for fans of the comic to keep them guessing, which made me feel a lot better. I'm already seeing quite a lot of differences in the show and like Alan Ball's version of the Sookie Stackhouse novels in True Blood, it seems to be a director's reimaging of someone elses world, albeit with the author's help, rather than a slavish (and lackluster) copy (like the Harry Potter books for instance).
The Monkey Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I saw the first episode the other night and liked it a lot. A little depressing, though.
VPI Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 I saw the first episode the other night and liked it a lot. A little depressing, though. Yeah I was kind of depressed that there was not more Human on Zombie violence in that episode as well. Hardly any exploding heads at all.
deepak Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) How is higher order zombie cortical function maintained if their heart isn't pumping blood to their brain, are their brains exploiting some other form of metabolic activity other than through the use of oxygen? The brain is still clearly their weak spot, so it is controlling some autonomic life functions Could one head control a zombie through their eye sockets or would a zombie simply laugh at such a human like tactic? Can a zombie laugh, if so what comedy program do they enjoy Edited November 11, 2010 by deepak
Dusty Chalk Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I Am Legend (the original story by Richard Matheson, not the Will Smith movie) has a bit of that, though not as much as you'd like, I think.
The Monkey Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Why do all zombies seem to have some form of clubfoot?
screaming oranges Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Zombies get wood? On the subject of "what happens after all humans are dead," I imagine some discrimination would eventually emerge on the basis of how many limbs are missing, deterioration level, etc.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I suspect the language would deteriorate into a lot of "hrm" and "pffft".
deepak Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Why do all zombies seem to have some form of clubfoot? Have you noticed the clubfoot disappears when they start running? I think it's an act to look slower than they really are. Fools those silly humans.
The Monkey Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Good point, though they would be well advised to stop the shenanigans because the scritch-scratch of their clubfeet are dead giveaways that they are sneaking up behind you.

screaming oranges Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I know that people turn into zombies after death. What I wonder is, do the bodies keep decomposing after the zombification, or is it a fixed state at that point? I imagine the bodies keep decomposing... which would explain why some zombies look more gruesome than others (foregoing the method in which they became zombies). However, if this is the case, this implies that the zombified bodies can decompose to the point of a second death...
manaox2 Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 The zombie host bodies have merged with the bacteria that digest other bacteria and organic tissues and expel oxygen into the blood. Hence the preservative effect in the more internal extremity, the outside decomposes faster. The bacteria infests the rear sections of the brain by the spinal cord that trigger muscle memory and receptors. Eventually, yes, the zombies should die a slow frustrating second death.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 So I still haven't gotten around to watching the first two episodes as we just haven't had a time in which both of us were able to sit down for an hour (I hate not being able to watch a show/movie in a one go). At this point, we may just wait until the remaining 4 episodes are aired.
VPI Posted December 6, 2010 Author Report Posted December 6, 2010 Damn, that is a long hiatus. I really liked this season.
deepak Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I wonder if it's because Frank Darabont is planning to do a lot of rewrites/changes to the script.
manaox2 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 The huge delay between seasons is becoming AMC's weakest point. Breaking bad is a longer delay. The new season for that will still not be starting until next July last I heard.
manaox2 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 The finale was not as crazy entertaining as I had hoped. No more tension in the audience and no more comedy or dark humor. All crappy drama and a wasted space even for building the plot more. Though the intro helped. Tapatalk
tkam Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 For those not aware AMC gave Frank Darabont the boot from The Walking Dead - this tweet pretty much puts the blame on AMC looking to cut costs after paying more than they really could afford for Mad Men. That's quite sad if it's true.
Pars Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Bring back Rubicon... >> Walking Dead by a mile IMHO
