Craig Sawyers Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I'm going to sound like a real dork - but I read the thread topic as "Official Hockney Thread", as in David Hockney the artist. Honestly. Time for (another) Scotch, I think. Thought it was a bit of a wierd topic on Head Case Quote
GPH Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 It really takes a Brit to mix up painting and hockey. Quote
guzziguy Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Craig. Hockey is just like cricket except that it's played on ice and everybody has a bat. Quote
boomana Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Just watched Bertuzzi get the Detroit win with a shootout goal in his 1000th game. Pretty cool. He's been on fire lately. Quote

GPH Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hockey's not what it used to be! I don't know what I find more shocking in this ad, the pre-purim party or the fact that you can get a ticket + free parking for 15$. That barely buys you a beer and a hot-dog in Montreal. Quote
aardvark baguette Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Why is there a penguin icon on that page? Quote
GPH Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I know, I just wanted to put a Penguins logo on this page too. Quote
boomana Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 http://rockthered.net/2011-articles/march/caps-visit-florida-set-fasers-to-purim.html#Caps Wow Double wow. If I can get someone to go with me, I'm going. I wonder if they're going to hand out Hamantaschen? I'm definitely in if so. Quote
VPI Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Going to the Kings v. Stars tonight. Been a while since I have been to a Stars game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
GPH Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Zdeno Chara is an asshole. Pacioretty just quit the game in ambulance and he looked uncounscious. One of the dirtiest moves i've ever seen in hockey. Quote
grawk Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 I didn't see it, but I can't imagine zdeno chara did anything to compare to the Todd Bertuzzi hit, let alone anything Matt Cooke has done or the Dale Hunter hit on Turgeon. Quote

grawk Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 I just saw it. Late hit, not malicious...sucks he hit a rigid support. Quote
GPH Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I'm sorry Dan, but I can't agree with you on this one. Every player in the NHL knows it's a dangerous area to hit a player, plus Pacioretty didn't have the puck and Chara hit him late. And both players had some history together. Quote
grawk Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 seriously tho, you can't compare that to the bertuzzi hit. Like, one's a hockey play, the other is attempted murder. Quote
GPH Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Yeah, Bertuzzi is a moron. Chara's a great hockey player, but he lacks judgement like tonight from time to time. Quote
skullguise Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 That play sucked for MP.....hope he recovers quickly enough. He's a good player.... Even as a Bruins fan, I think they should have metered out a smaller suspension for Chara (2-3 games? Who knows). Yes, Chara is not "that" type of player, and it was a late hit that may not even get called in another situation. But even when a good player makes a bad judgement, there should be some message sent. And that said, for the true "intent" penalties, the suspension should be a LOT stiffer. Quote
grawk Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 the caps/hawks game was a great one, with a classic dirty goal to end OT Quote
bozebuttons Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 the caps/hawks game was a great one, with a classic dirty goal to end OT That was a great game with a fitting finish, the Hawks late goal in the third set it up. Quote
grawk Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 Hossa picked the wrong sport, he shoulda been an olympic diver. Quote
skullguise Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Thoroughly enjoyed the Bruins-Canadiens game last night, even though it was so one-sided; Bruins finally won a good game of hockey against them. The Habs have had the Bruins' number pretty much all year. And with the build-up of the Pacioretty hit, and the closeness of the race for home ice advantage in the first round, it shaped up to be a truly big game. I was ecstatic about the way the Bruins played, but disappointed that the Habs didn't do better; they ARE very much a better team than what they showed. Despite the confidence that this gave the Bruins, I still fear them facing Montreal in the first round if it works to be that way. And it sounds like Pacioretty may be back for the playoffs, wishing him all the best..... Quote
